  1. This place was more than a diner. We were expecting typical diner food, and diner menu when we got here. But we really were happily surprised.

The menu offered a lot of great options, without being overwhelming like many  diner menus can get. They seem to have a lot of signature options, as well as fun and unusual options I would not usually see at a local diner.

We had a big group, and some with food allergies. That person was tended to, and service overall was not an issue.

I ordered one of their appetizer specials, The Irish Egg Roll. Very cool! What a great idea too! Everyone else seemed to love their soup appetizers and salads. for dinner I ordered their 'world famous turkey burger' with sweet potato fries. Wow, you can really taste how fresh the meat was in the turkey. Super moist, and flavorful. Same goes for the sweet potatoes. The second I tasted it I knew these fries were homemade, not from a frozen bag. Same goes for the turkey burger, the soup, etc. It seemed almost everything we ate was not only fresh, but clearly made there and not pre-frozen. That is impressive for a diner!

  2. The Landmark is what I would call a serviceable Diner. It does all the things you expect from a diner – decent breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, etc – nothing that made me go OMG I need to keep coming back for this!

This place is huge so I don't think I ever came here and had to wait for a table, which is a good thing. It is so huge that it has an elevator so it's like a multi-floor dining factory – it accommodates larger parties.

As others have mentioned perhaps the prices are on the higher side of diners so maybe that is why this place gets middling reviews overall – most people want to feel they are getting a great deal! I never felt that way here.

This is one of the duller reviews I had to write. How do you convey the notion of something being ok and good enough when you aren't particularly inspired. If you are in the area and looking for a diner meal the Landmark should fit the bill.

  3. I first dined at the Landmark Diner yesterday after a friend of mine wanted to meet me here, as he lives nearby and enjoys this diner, as he finds that the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are not bad. I was happy to accept my friend's offer, as I enjoy good diners, like The Harvest Diner in Westbury, NY (yelp.com/biz/harvest-din…) and have had heard good things about this diner. After parking in the large lot, I was greeted by this diner's neat and imposing structure, as this is the only diner on Long Island I know of that has two stories, which was the first thing I noticed. In addition, the exterior of the diner looked sleek, with a chrome and glass exterior. In the large downstairs lobby, with its sparkling clean tile floors, I met my friend and the amiable host at the downstairs host stand invited us to use the elevator and head to a table upstairs. While it was crowded, we did not have to wait, as the Landmark has a large seating capacity. Upstairs, a waiter escorted us to a two seater table, which had a view of the first floor of the diner. After we were handed menus, it was tough to make a decision, as I was not sure whether I wanted breakfast or lunch as there were many delicious selections. Another thing that was impressive was that for people with gluten allergies, they had many different options available as well as a dedicated gluten-free preparation area in the kitchen, which is very impressive! Sadly, I was not able to eat the gluten-free bread, which is Udi's, as I am allergic to egg and Udi's contains egg, but that's OK, as there was more than enough to eat and I still give the Landmark Diner an A for effort on this front! Ultimately, as I kept turning the pages, a Vegan Veggie Tofu Scramble on the Specials menu caught my eye, as to me, it is like eating eggs without eating eggs, so I decided on that for my entree. When our waitress Daniella came, we found her to be excellent, as she was very friendly, welcoming, accommodating, and efficient throughout our meal! I ordered the aforementioned Vegan Veggie Tofu Scramble for $9.95, along with a side of Turkey Bacon, coffee, and orange juice. In addition, since Daniella knew I could not eat the bread as it still had egg despite being gluten free, she was happy to substitute home-fries for my order. My friend ordered a chicken tender sandwich of some sort with fries, coffee, and an egg cream. While we were waiting, we enjoyed the Landmark's atmosphere, which was loud but inviting, with nice carpet on the floors and many windows to allow for ample sunlight to light the restaurant. Daniella first came with our beverages. I enjoyed the orange juice, which was freshly squeezed, with a nice amount of pulp and a sweet and tangy taste. The coffee was decent too, as it was strong and not burnt. Soon enough, we received our meals. I enjoyed my Vegan Veggie Tofu Scramble, which was large in portion size and made with slightly firm and slightly sweet scrambled tofu, leafy spinach, earthy mushrooms, and sweet and crunchy peppers. I also enjoyed the home-fries, which were pleasantly salty and not too greasy, with a crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. Also, I found that the turkey bacon was crispy, moist, sweet, salty, and smokey. While I did not try my friend's meal, I thought that it looked delicious and the portion was large. Price-wise, I found this diner to be a little more expensive than the Harvest, but still reasonable for the high quality and large portions. Considering the area, I was pleasantly surprised it was less than a diner like the Carle Place Diner in Carle Place, NY (yelp.com/biz/carle-place…), which is not as good based on my experience. As our meal came to an end, I also used the restroom, which I found to be very clean! Overall, I would definitely return to The Landmark Diner, as I thought the food was delicious and served in large portions, the service was friendly and accommodating, the prices were average, and the atmosphere was neat!

  4. I came here for lunch to eat this sandwich filled with fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and jalapeños! I could totally be missing something else in it. I don't remember the name of it but it did consist the word fat which is well deserved. I ordered the sandwich with my friend and we each had a half. We also ordered fries on the side because it didn't come with the sandwich. You really get a fat oily cheesy fried sandwich out of it. It was deff fun to try but it will deff not be my usual there. I was surprised how more expensive it was then what i usually experience at other diners. That's the only reason why I took off a point

  5. I think this diner is rated at a perfect 3. It's casual comfortable and has food that can bring people together but the food is not the focus here. It's big families, groups of friends connecting over a meal. This menu is so vast it can cover anyones craving. This place always puts me in a good mood. The service is nothing to speak of. Just take friends you haven't seen in a while, order a cappuccino or maybe some fries, relax and have a good time.

  6. A solid 3.5 stars.  We traversed to this diner the day after Snowmageddon 2016 and they were open and up and running.  Menu is standard diner fare but overall quality was better than expected.  Service was friendly and quick and prices are very reasonable.  Good diner in an area devoid of them and a much better place to eat if you're craving diner than 7 Seas down Northern IMO.

  7. Wish I could give zero stars.
$11 for two horrible, low quality pancakes. Are you kidding me? Just because they're buttermilk? So chewy and bad taste.

I guess food came in a timely manner, but food was just so overpriced for less than average quality.

  8. This is definitely not the place it was even 3 years ago.  The service and quality of food appears to have suffered with time.   I usually visited this place for breakfast and lunch – but now food mediocre at best.
