  1. If you're looking for a quick high-quality empanada on the go, this is a great place. I'm told the coffee is excellent but I can't speak for it myself since I don't drink coffee.

  2. I got lost walking to Raychel's place after making my way from JFK via the AirTrain (try that…super cool for $5.)

Stumbled across this bakery and got myself some chicken empanadas, fruit salad and delicious pastry for breakfast. Not a place to eat in with much comfort…mainly a take out spot.

Staff were friendly and didn't hold back on the salsa and stuff for take-out.

  3. I have a certain fondness for Colombian bakeries, what?? I grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood and my best friend is half Colombian and half Ecuadorian. We have have been friends the last 28 years, so I have very fond memories of when we used to come here as kids. And don't expect much in terms of decor, it's more of a quick snack or order to go place.

    The food:

Pan de Queso- not to be confused with Pan con Queso, which is bread with a slice of cheese in the middle. Pan de Queso translates to bread from cheese, I guess. It's a doughnut shaped pieces of bread that has cheese inside the bread, when you eat it, it doesn't scream cheese. It's a very subtle taste, but the texture of the bread is the most important thing to me about this bread. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Emapanada de Carne- It's a fried beef emapanda. It's fried corn dough with ground beef and potatoes inside. I think the one made here is good, the inside is a little greasy but the outside is crisp and tender. Their hot sauce is a nice addition. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Empanada de Queso- I don't know why I love this so much. It's literally no work involved in making this, it's queso blanco and dough. It's two ingredients really, but the texture of the fried dough and salty and creaminess from the queso blanco pair well together.

Almojabana- This is another Colombian bread that has cheese in it as well, not really sure how it's different from Pan de Queso. Besides the shape, the inside taste kinda similar. yelp.com/user_local_phot… yelp.com/user_local_phot…
