  1. Taco Tuesday review! Came beer for the $2 taco Tuesday, and the deal is exactly that; smaller versions of their normal monster tacos for $2 a piece; choice of 5 varieties. Tired four of them, chicken, steak, fish, and pork, and all were excellent. For $8, I left stuffed and content. This is one of the best deals in town. And oh yeah, it's tasty.

  2. Wonderful service we went on NYE. There was a prix fixe option but we used the regular menu. However, they had one of the best holiday prix fixe menus in the area for the price. We got the sushi for two which had a California roll, raw fish pieces, and a spicy tuna roll which was great. We also got some gyozo and miso soup came with the sushi. Nice ambience for a date!

  3. I don't think any other place in hoboken can do better than $2 tacos on tuesdays. Its a bit of a hidden spot because most people think they only serve sushi but surprisingly they make some pretty good mexican food.

I tried each of the four different kinds of tacos offered and my ranking from best to worst is as follows: steak, pork, chicken, fish.

The steak taco was cooked well which went really well with the sauce they used. The pork was smothered in barbecue sauce which was great but i wouldn't recommend getting more than one unless you really love your barbecue sauce. The chicken and fish tacos were mediocre.

I also ordered the guacamole and chips as an appetizer. They really load up on the chips which comes with three different kinds of guacamole (corn, pineapple and cheese).

My overall experience here was really good. I plan on coming back for the other weekday specials.

  4. I came here with my boyfriend and another couple on the first warm Sunday in April. When we arrived we were sat without a wait exactly where we wanted on the back patio. It is a very cute setup outdoors with string lights across the top. It is a romantic, yet casual atmosphere. We decided to just order a bunch of appetizers. We ordered Tuna tartare bruschetta. ($17) It was quite yummy but seemed slightly expensive for the size. We tried the  Gaucamole Trio ($12) but they definitely should give an endless supply of chips because they ran out pretty quickly and we had lots toppinga left from the trio that went unused. Seemed like a waste of a dish. The Asian style wings ($8) were actually my favorite. The meat was tender and juicy. The sauce was all over the wings and was the perfect flavor. The final appetizer we tried was the crispy calamari ($10). It was so good! They serve it with a duck sauce instead of the typical marinara. It was a nice change. I can't wait to come back and try more.

  5. Ordered the sushi and asian wings.

The wings were not the best i have had. They were a little gummy with the sauce and the crust wasnt crunchy.

Sushi was fresh so no complaints there. There is not much to say about sushi its either decent or very bad nothing really in between.

  6. Been making the rounds of the 'uptown' Hoboken spots not that we moved up that way.  Unfortunately this will not get a repeat visit.

Went late afternoon to an empty place so no issues there.  Tried sushi – which was hard to eat, I literally just gave up half way through it.  Tried the tacos, they were only slightly less bad.

Cheap pitcher of sangria constantly reminded you it was a cheap pitcher.

Just seems like low quality ingredients in everything.  Didn't leave a good impression… makes me not hungry just thinking about it.

  7. I've gone back for sushi take-out many times. Still pretty consistent, good sushi. I dined in for the first time last Friday. Tried the Asian style wings and oh em gee!! They are definitely at the top of my list of my favorite wings that I've ever had. Those and the Salmon Kani Poppers(which were also very good) were enough to fill me up.
The service was a bit slow but it was Friday night so that might have had something to do with it. Will definitely be going back for the wings.

  8. My experiences here have been meh to A-OK, never really great. It's a weird mix for sure, Asian/Mexican some of the stuff actually works though. I don't eat sushi so I can't comment on that.

We've sat at the bar, dining room and the back courtyard and each time service has been ok to bad. At the bar, the bartender was nice but was too busy talking with her friends who were quite frankly obnoxious and not even paying customers. The service on our last journey was absolutely atrocious, about 15 minutes to get greeted, we almost left. Then once they took our order it was even longer to get our food, now it was taco Tuesday so it shouldn't take too long to make some pretty basic tacos, but it took about 30 minutes. Water glasses went empty, one check in about 28 minutes into that 30 minutes. Then the guy just kinda thew down the check. Really bad, and it was like that for other tables we saw the lack of service for everyone.

The taco Tuesday is a decent deal $2 chicken, pork, beef or fish tacos. The last time the tacos were lacking anything inside them, it was really pitiful, I was still hungry after 4 and the wife still hungry after 3, and it took 30 minutes for these. Disappointing. I almost got the chips and 3 salsa app, but for $8 I saw other tables get it, hardly worth that.

I have had the nachos and they are absolutely excellent, they are gigantic and really filling, the nachos and a decent happy hour is really why it gets 3 stars and not 2.

After the last experience here it will be awhile before we come back, it's just average food with less than stellar service.
