“My wife and I liked how coffee and chai tea latte comes in cute mini pots, keeping it warm longer.”

I really enjoyed my lunch here. We were starving after walking around the city a bit so we popped in here. The portion was huge; I ordered a Basil chicken and mozzarella Tartine. The space is open and airy and noise is not an issue despite it's size. It's right across from Bryant Park, and a nice refuge to grab a coffee or lunch. Service was good and prompt, and prices were reasonable considering the location. I didn't save room for what looked to be yummy pastries, so I'll have to stop in again.
Came here for dinner after a long day
Pros:
– The warm goat cheese salad was yummy and it was a good portion size (I wish they added more goat cheese)
– Smoked salmon tartine was yummy but not filling
Cons:
– I know that they were understaffed but we waited more than an hour to get our food – the waitress was really nice but not enough waiters/waitresses on a Saturday night?!
– Ran out of butternut squash soup – was really sad, I wished they crossed it off their whiteboard
I'm not a fan of these chain cafes, but the person I was catching up with suggested this spot, so I couldn't dispute it.
Although I've never been inside a Le Pain Quotidien, I always thought it was like your standard Au Bon Pain, where you just order/grab your food and sit at one of the open tables. However, Le Pain Quotidien actually had an ample seating area, where you're actually served by a waiter (not sure if all locations are like this or if it's just this particular location only). There was a sign that you had to wait to be seated, but we stood there for a good 3-5 minutes before we were finally seated – weird because it was pretty empty at the time too.
Interestingly, they serve wine here..and have Happy Hour..I opted for the mocha, while my friend ordered the Rose. The mocha was your standard mocha – nothing special. My friend enjoyed her wine, but she didn't really comment on it either, so I would assume it was standard as well. We also shared the cheese and meat platter which came with 4 slices of various slices of bread and some jam. Not that I had high expectations, but the cheese looked like it came straight out of the supermarket. It also just came with like 6 slices of prosciutto and 4 VERY small salami slices. At $18, you basically paid restaurant prices for cafe quality/setting. I would definitely recommend eating elsewhere because everything is basically $15+.
Le Pain Quotidien looks like an adorable and spacious spot to grab a quick bite but there's just too many cons about this place, I won't be back. First off, terrible and unreliable service. It took nearly an hour for them to bring 2 orders out. When the food finally came, I was ravenous but disappointed by the tiny portions. At the prices they're charging, it's just too expensive and nothing memorable. The best part were the spreads they have. But you'll have to personally ask the waiter for them if you want to try them. This place is a pass.
After an intense 5:45am class at SoulCycle, I decided to unwind before going to work by having a solo breakfast. This location is perfectly adjacent from Bryant Park and is just a few yards down from the subway and popular shopping destinations.
I walked in around 7:15am and noticed it was very calm – making a perfect situation to enjoy table service. If you intend on having table service at any Le Pain Quotidien you can either seat yourself or wait to be seated if there's a line. I ended up picking a spot to sit and tried to get the attention of the wait staff and quickly realized this was a task was not as easy as it should have been. Mulling over the menu, they had options for everyone: avocado toast, yogurt with granola, fruit bowls and various egg dishes along with juices that come off like a selection of mock-tails (cocktails with no alcohol). Ended up ordering an avocado toast that came on a long piece of perfectly baked bread smeared with avocado with pieces of avocado with poppy seeds sprinkled on top. Some locations have kale on it as well but this did not, only a sad bunch of lettuce in the corner with a tiny lemon wedge. It didn't look that appealing but it did taste good and serve its purpose. Honestly, the raspberry lemonade with muddled raspberries was the best part.
Throughout my breakfast, I was asked if everything was ok and it was. The atmosphere was calm and the classical music enhanced this feeling. Service could have been better since I struggled to get the attention of someone to give me a menu, take my order and hand me the check. I must admit although the service was just ok, it did not affect the timing of my breakfast and I was on time for work.

I grabbed a late breakfast here Monday morning prior to checking out from our Christmas weekend. Normally, this wouldn't be my first choice. For starters I am not a fan of chains, especially when it comes to breakfast. Second, I am not a fan of that Panera style approach regarding breakfast. More importantly whenever I find myself in the city I usually seek the craziness of a busy Manhattan coffee shop to satisfy my homesickness but Pie's N Thighs in Brooklyn became a Christmas weekend tradition. Le Pain Quotidien at Bryant Park was a decent change of pace.
My party of four started out with the organic bakers basket. In all honesty the menu did not completely gel with me. For starters I do not like soft-boiled eggs. Second, I am not a fan of ricotta, and cheese is not usually my staple breakfast item; not even on my egg sandwiches. I narrowed my choices down to the organic steel-cut oatmeal and the warm Belgian waffle with jam and fresh cream; going with the latter. Overall, it wasn't half bad. The vegetable quiche my wife ordered was ok.
I did like the coffee!
I was really surprised by the food quality of this place, great food service was very good the guy who served us was super friendly and the food options were great as well! Thank you guys for having so much vegan and gluten free options I will definitely be checking your location in Chicago
Love Bryant Park and this is a convenient spot for a quick nosh. It's always busy and we usually have a short wait, but the good is good quality and fresh.
This visit we shared a smoked salmon tartine with avocado on organic whole wheat sourdough. It was very fresh and tasty. Service was friendly.
Their baked goods always look so tempting too!
