  1. Came here for a quick late night bite on a Saturday. There were maybe 6 people there so it was easy to grab a seat. The atmosphere is cute and cosy, and I didn't feel weird being here alone. I ordered the quinoa tabouleh salad, which has greens, chickpeas, avocado, and other veggies in it that I can't recall.

I give it a solid 3 stars. It was healthy but it backfired as it didn't fill me up so I ate a bunch of bread and butter afterwards. And although I enjoyed it, I don't think it was worth $18. Le Pain seems to think that it's the dine-in version of Whole Foods with its exorbitant prices. So I wouldn't go here regularly.

  2. Okay, I get it; this spot is smack dab in the heart of the Upper East Side, but that shouldn't mean rude, unwelcoming service!  I wasn't feeling the love at Le Pain, and I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're on vacation and in a good mood (me, last Wednesday.)

Pardon me if my Midwestern-ness is coming on too strong, but the counter service was cold and uninviting, and for what? My pre-packaged grain bowl I picked up for lunch was pricey and lacked the oomph my body and mind craved.

I will say this: I overheard a very flamboyant male waiter speaking to the woman at the next table, and he was phenomenal. Super engaging, thoughtful, and courteous. Four for you, Glen Coco.

  3. This is a standard Le Pain with ample seating.  It fills up with moms and their nursery schoolers and ladies lunching around noon.  Service is fine, not remarkable.  Pacing was a tad slow on our last visit.
My one complaint, and maybe I'm being picky, is that plates often leave the kitchen with smudges and fingerprints around the edges.  As someone who worked in restaurant service for years and years, I believe that it's standard practice for every plate to get a quick wipe around its edges before it leaves the kitchen.  Also- silverware is often spotty and I find myself doing a wipe-down with water before I use it.  Honestly, I shouldn't have to do that.
But all-in-all, this is still someplace I wouldn't hesitate to pop into for lunch.

  4. I love this place. I went here for lunch with my husband and the food we order was great. It wasn't to light or to heavy and it was just right. The restaurant decor was nice and elegant. It wasn't far from where my husband used to live it at. I recommended this to a friend and she love it to since she is a vegan, it suit her just perfect. I would go back to this place and have to try the one in Chicago.

  5. Besides the amazing avocado toast, the service and food were respectively terrible and meh.  Oatmeal was dry and not good.  The apple pie was also cold.  Nothing here is worth the price. Service was very slow and several things were forgotten.  It was very busy while we were there so maybe it was an issue of being understaffed.  Either way, food was overall fine but with so many other good options in the area I would not come back.

  6. It's just an LPQ.  It was fine.

  7. This place has low reviews, but my experience the handful of times I've been here has been consistently good. Our servers are always really kind, the food is always fresh and healthy, and the baked goods are tasty too. Yay for the daily bread!

  8. Our server, a very nice gentleman,  who said that he had worked there for a long time, was extremely helpful.  I wish I had him name, but it was Friday, August 6th at 9:30am, and he was working the inside tables by the windows and a/c.  He knew the menu and dietary answers inside and out.  He has a great attitude!  Food was great, too!
