Le Village
“First of all, this place is BYOB and has no corkage fee, so definitely bring a great Burgundy/Bordeaux wine (or two) with you.”
“For entrees we had the choux-fleur roti, which is a giant roasted head of cauliflower along with other vegetables, as well as the coq au vin.”
“We ordered a lot – french onion soup, salad, brussel sprouts, and 2 entrees – and everything was perfection.”

Good restaurant if you have vegan or vegetarian friends to satisfy. Great restaurant because it's BYOB with no corking fee. They'll even give you an ice bucket to keep your wine cold. Not every dish is vegan or vegetarian. Vegan dishes are clearly marked, as are gluten free ones. They have a few meat options on the menu as well. The menu is pretty short in general, but the dishes are done well.
Tried the Choux Fleur Roti (roasted cauliflower) and the gnocchi. The cauliflower was served as a whole roasted head. It was very tender, and went well with the accompanying quinoa and other garnishes. The gnocchi was very very rich, making the smaller portion size suitable. Both dishes were on the pricier end though.
The inside of the restaurant was much more casual than I had anticipated. I would return.
All good but damn the hanger steak is oddly insanely good. Roasted garlic (I think) crusted. Hanger steak should not be this good.
Coq au vin also pretty tasty.
This is a vegan-friendly French place with lots of meat/animal free dishes but what was so surprising was how good the meat was. Zoiks.
Oh, and BYOB.
Small, narrowish space. Super friendly folks running it.
Let's go!
I wish I could rest my head every night on their pillowy gluten free gnocchi – truly the stuff of dreams! Le Village is a tiny blink and you might miss it spot with a fantastic menu filled with options to accommodate most dietary restrictions. The aforementioned gluten free gnocchi was rich, creamy, cheesy and decadent but the pillowy gnocchi were light enough that it didn't feel too heavy or overpowering. The brussel sprouts with strawberries and balsamic were the perfect mix of salty, tart and sweet. Finally the banana brulee pudding dessert was the stuff that my gluten free sweet tooth constantly craves – sooooo delicious. My only complaint is that there were so many delicious sounding gluten free options, I struggled a bit to decide what to order! I'll have to come back to try it all!
Also as other reviewers noted this place only takes cash and amex which is a bit inconvenient BUT when I made my reservation they both e-mailed and called to make sure this was very clear – extra points for communication surrounding that policy!
Overpriced small portion food. We had the ravioli and gnocchi which were both extremely pricey for the size. I enjoyed the ravioli a lot because it was creamy and the mushroom taste was rich but I finished it in 2-3 bites so that was quite upsetting. The gnocchi was larger and very cheesy but not something I was crazy with.
Service was good, waiter was friendly, ambiance felt too dead.
I was originally skeptical about going to Le Village since it boasts gluten free and vegan options and I pretty much need my meals to have dairy, bread/pasta and meat. However, I'm so glad I paid this place a visit because the food was delicious (they do serve meat/dairy/etc.)! First of all, I highly recommend the french onion soup. Yes, it is a vegetable based broth, but the savory onions and the cheesy baked bread is AMAZING. I also shared the beet carpaccio with my boyfriend which was pretty good and a rather untraditional take on beets.
For entrees, my boyfriend and I shared the kale and mushroom dish and the steak. I loved the kale and mushrooms, but I think it was over priced at $20. It seemed to be more of side dish than an entree. Like I said though, really tasty–nice tangy, savory and sweet flavors with kale that had a nice bite to it. The steak was also really good and I found it to be worth the price tag. Had a good amount of herbs with buttery goodness. We ended our meal with the chocolate lava cake and it was a bit smaller than expected but tasty none the less!
I will definitely be back to this place, at least for the french onion soup.
This place was just delightful! Six of us came on a Saturday night with a reservation to celebrate a birthday. It's a small place but is very cozy and inviting. One of the best things about it is that it is BYOB and they don't charge a corkage fee. Our host and server were very friendly and accommodating to our group as well.
I started with the Rilletes de Canard which was a great appetizer. The gluten free biscuits that came along with it were awesome and I could easily snack on them all day long. For the main meal I ordered the Gnocchi Parisian au Gratin which was easily better than almost any mac and cheese I have ever had. The sauce was creamy and flavored with truffles. The top layer was wonderfully crispy as well. I finished off the the Cafe Liegeois which was good, but nothing to write home about.
Everyone in my group was happy with their meals. There seems to be something for everyone whether they are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc. I'll definitely be back in the future!
Well, OMG that was good!! The food was amazing. All the french classics in a vegetarian way. Wow! There are lots of vegan options too. My dear meet-lover friend loved it also. So it is really a restaurant everybody will like.
The place felt very homy and comforty. The staff was super sweet and the music was great.
I would highly recommend to try this restaurant. I, for sure, will add it to my list of places to go back to!
This place is BYOB (with NO corkage fee – limit of two bottles per table I believe), and you're able to make reservations. Score!
NOT for vegetarians, FYI – I think they have one veggie sandwich / dish and the appetizers are vegetarian too. I had the appetizer with eggplant on a flat taco shell… very interesting but TASTY. The taco shell was impossible to cut, which was irritating, as I eventually gave up and used my hands.
Their steaks run around $23. It's a smaller spot with not a lot of tables, but I would necessarily call this a fancy place anyway.
