I want to say that this place is a lot more hectic than the Tarrytown location…and the Tarrytown location is always crowded and packed!
Our servers were nice and accommodating, but the place was loud…or maybe we were loud? I don't know…
The food here is just as solid as the Tarrytown location. Can't go wrong with the appetizer medley. As a warning, platters do come with a appetizer greek salad that is almost as big as an entree salad. I had the Aegean platter for myself, and it is a shiet load of food for 1 person. It contains Moussaka, pastitsio, spinach pie and gyro, Served with dinner Greek salad, pita bread and choice of french fries or rice.
I ate maybe 1/3 of it, and doggy bagged the rest. It really is for 2 people. Between a couple, 1 appetizer and 1 platter entree should suffice.
Solid greek food here. I really enjoyed every aspect of my platter. The Moussaka, and Pastitsio were yummy. The spinach pie was crispy and flaky. The gyro was salty and tender and crispy. Yummmmo.
I live near the Mount Kisco location….i should start ordering takeout from there. I forget how good Lefteris food is.
If you are in search of a good gyro this is this the place to go to. They have fresh food and the gyro is great there isn't many places left in the westchester area to find a good gyro but here is definatly the place to go. They also have a place in tarrytown which was the original place I believe. That place is nice to but much smaller. They have a variety of dishes from the Mediterranean world that you can try. It is a little pricey but then again it is in ridge hill and the rent their must be pretty expensive.
Been here twice and liked it for the most part. It can get really busy on the weekends. If you enjoy Greek food, this is a restaurant that can do the trick for you. The food is pretty good, the waitstaff is professional, and the restaurant is fairly clean. Will come back.
We decided on this place because it seemed affordable and had pretty good reviews (on Yelp). We were not disappointed! Friendly service, and the portions were HUGE–definitely a good price for the amount of food. (Okay, I say "huge" when I mean instead of paying $20 for a sprig of parsley and an ice cube you got a plate big enough to split.)
The service was also good.
All in all, we were pleased with our meal and have filed this place away for future dining adventures.
After hearing raves about Lefteris from friends and coworkers to my fellow Yelpers, hubby and I decided to try out their Mediterranean fare. I was delighted to find out that they have a full bar but decided not to drink on this occasion.
The staff is very friendly and we were seated in one of the large booths immediately upon entering. Our server approached quickly and we ordered our drinks and app. I really wanted hubby to try their Cheese Pie so I got one for us to share. It's very rich and cheesy. The dough is super flaky and it was cooked perfectly. We both ordered platters; I had my Lamb Souvlaki with rice and hubby got his Lamb Gyro with fries. We were both given salads that were lightly dressed with a citrus dressing, they had stuffed grape leaves, olives and feta cheese; our meals came with warm pita bread on the side. My lamb was cooked to a perfect medium temp and the rice, seasoned wonderfully. Hubby's gyro meat was soooooo good but his fries were underseasoned; they could have used a sprinkle of salt right after cooking and that would have made a world of difference. I would suggest dusting some salt on them as soon as they're brought to the table and maybe foregoing the ketchup to just dip them in that creamy tzatziki
I like gyros, always have. I haven't had one in a long time. Not entirely sure why, they aren't exactly on every corner I guess. I've really been craving one for almost a week now. It started when I had to go to a training thing for work and the lunch counter had a special gyro, with nacho cheese….seriously, I wanted to vomit. Needless to say I refrained from eating that day, but the worm wiggled into my brain, that I needed a proper gyro.
After braving the horrible drivers of a holiday weekend in Westchester, I made my way from the garage in Ridge Hill to a really nice Greek restaurant that I had never gone inside of before. I really only wanted a quick take out, but the place has a really nice look to it.
I was greeted and ordered my gyro quickly. It took about 3 minutes to get and I was off. The smell in the car was intoxicating, but I fought off the urge to rip into it until I got home.
The gyro was absolutely wonderful. The meat was delicious, the fresh lettuce and tomato were great, all were overstuffed to perfection in a nice warm pita. It really hit the spot and it won't take long for me to grab another.
Still tasty but don't recommend the falafel sandwich. For one, it's not a sandwich if you can't pick it up. Three crispy falafels top a massive mound of lettuce tomato and onion over a pita. I had use a knife and fork.
I'd really recommend this place for folks who don't want to go with the chain restaurants while shopping at the mall. The service is quick and the place is very busy! Their prices are fair and the amount of food is generous. If you don't mind the hectic establishment, perhaps you will be better off making your line at one of the chain restaurants. I'd recommend you try one of their mixed drinks!
