  1. Granted I didn't get the clams…or even seafood for that matter, still, I thought this place was overrated and overpriced. Got a double cheeseburger with fried onions and a side of onion rings. Felt like good quality snack bar food, but not worth the 11 dollars it cost me. Plus cash only sucks ….bring your business into 2013

  2. This really isn't a review as much as a trip down memory lane. When I was a teen we lived at 666 Pelham Road. We would come here in the summer and I have such fond memories of the burgers. We called it Greasy Nicks and it's so cool that people still refer to it as such. I can still smell the onions cooking on the flattop grill. The bun looks exactly as I remember! It's been 20 years since I moved out of NYC to California and probably 30+ year since I ate here. If I ever get back to my old neighborhood I will definitely stop by.

  3. Best fried clams I've ever had here. Come here a few times during the summer as its right near Glen Island. knocked off a star because it could use some refurbishing

  4. For those who have fond childhood memories of going here, this hole-in-the-wall that you'd miss if you blinked is actually called Greasy Nicks. One of these days, I'm going to take the time to see if Guy Fieri has featured it on Diners, Drivers and Dives … and if not, I'm going to make everyone I know write in to suggest this place.

Because though they have a very limited menu, which consists of steamers, corn on the cob, burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers and a few other "greasy" bites … they make them all well. Really really well. If you don't believe me, come by during the summer months when they're open and see how many of the outside seating tables are actually available. Try to get parking before someone snatches up that little corner table – your curiosity will get the better of you and you'll become ravenous about snagging a seat and placing your order as soon as possible.

When you do get a seat, order the corn, which comes out in a melted butter bath and is sweet and succulent. If you're there with some friends, get a bucket of steamers, which always taste fresh and satisfying while you soak up the sun. Then, get a few burgers. I say a few because your first bite, filled with perfectly melted cheese and fried onions, will have you convinced they cook the meat with crack in it. You'll be addicted and want more and more. So, just to be on the safe side, get a few orders in from the get-go. You'll be glad you did when you see how busy the wait staff is taking orders at the other tables.

  5. Under the same ownership since 1970, this Shore Road spot deserves a place on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

Came in for a "nostalgia burger" and it was as good as ever – most importantly, unchanged since my first one in 1977.

Think full size White Castle. Start with caramelized onions on the grill, add a full sized burger patty and stick the result between two halves of a lightly buttered and grilled Kaiser Roll for $4.
It melted in my mouth and I have insufficient words to describe the deliciousness.  My friend went with two split and grilled hot dogs, also served on split grilled buttered buns.

The menu is short – clams, burgers, dogs, corn, fries and onions. Grab a cold beer and sit outside on the metal tables circa 1980.

This is a place that if you are close, you gotta go.
