Lenny's, not Denny's. 3.5 stars. Great sandwiches, but painful service. Disorganized chaos and slow. Extra long counter with 3-4 sandwich makers, good. But, 1 order taker/cashier and 1 "assistant" were unable to handle the line successfully.
Once sandwiches were in-hand, they were awesome. I had a veggie sandwich (a thing of beauty) and an Emma's (turkey, ham, cole slaw, swiss, russian dressing), each with delicious bread at a $7.99-$9.29 price tag.
But, I would hesitate going back due to the service, or lack thereof. Two but's in one review is not good.
This flatiron location is really nice. Sitting on the second floor, you could actually enjoy your sandwich or salad and people-watching at the same time. Hot pastrami plus a delicious garden salad – good balance of nutrition and taste!
I love Lenny's!
I mean…. it's cool I was not thrilled and all the drinks/yogurt/al-carte menu items are super over priced. and who puts EGGS in a BLT?
Nope.
If you are looking for a great lunch at reasonable prices this is the place to go. I recommend the cobb salad. It's delicious! I've had sandwiches from here and they are great also! Great service as well.
I order from lenny's here and there and usually tend to make my own sandwich. which they are always fresh and good. But today i decided to try one of their specialty sandwichs and it was a damn good choice. I went with the Lenwich with Ciabatta bread and opted for the russian dressing on the side. Boy did i make a good choice, the sandwich was very tasty on it's own without the dressing but when I went ahead and added it gave it an even better taste. I am happy i opted for it on the side so I can moderate how much to add. I will definitely be back especially since it is so close to me. This place tends to get crowded so I ordered pick up online which was awesome. Walked in and right out 🙂 no waiting.
Good lord. What a long wait for an omelette! They tackle all the sandwiches, regular eggs and warps first — at least they did that busy weekday morning I arrived. I waited nearly 25 minutes for the atkin's omelette and two pieces of whole wheat toast. It was onion and pepper overload (more eggs would have been preferred) and really greasy.
Quick food. Obviously can get better in the city, but for a quick and easy meal, this place is a go-to. The staff was super friendly and the bagel with lox was just what I wanted.
Amazing selection, slightly overrated sandwiches.
My coworker was really in the mood for something "tasty," and we just happened to walk by Lenny's. Walking in, I was completely overwhelmed by the menu. There were SO many options: hot and cold, roasted meats and cold cuts, sandwich and rolls, the combinations go on and on. I wanted to have something lighter to combat post-Thanksgiving gluttony and opted for a chicken cutlet tonkatsu sandwich with whole wheat bread. One of my coworkers sandwiches for some reason took an abnormal amount of time to prepare. We waited five extra minutes for him to get his roll.
When I got back to the office, the presentation was so neat. Everything placed on the sandwich carefully and sliced so cleanly. Unfortunately the sandwich didn't live up to my expectations. I actually loved the tonkatsu sauce which was my biggest concern. However, the bread just didn't hold and for being a $9 sandwich, I expected more and for it to be more filling. It was by no means an awful sandwich, but with so many Flatiron options, I figured it'd be a better use of my time in the future to visit other lunch spots.
