Lenwich

“I'm not even a huge chicken sandwich fan, but this #5 "All time favorite (of Lenny himself)" was a savory piece of heaven.”

“Everything just comes together perfectly when you have the proper sandwich in your hands and that is what they deliver.”

“- An ordering system slightly more complicated than necessary (featuring framed posters of available types of bread – for the visually-inclined).”

  1. Pretty good chain sandwich restaurant in NYC. I had the signature namesake sandwich, which was their pastrami, corned beef, cole slaw, rye bread, Russian dressing sandwich. It was delicious, and I'm not usually a fan of corned beef or cole slaw! The service was quick, place was clean, overall recommended for a quick bit to eat.

  2. Got a craving for sandwiches? This is the place to go. Their sandwiches especially the Lenwich hits comfort food so hard I almost fell into a food coma after downing one Hero Lenwich. The amount of sliced meat and coleslaw in there had me in heaven for a few minutes at a time. You may have your sandwich on a Sliced Bread / Roll / Ciabatta / Wrap / Hero. Although Lenny's have a variety of sandwiches. They will cater to your preference, which is well appreciated.

During lunch hour, this place can get quite pack during the weekdays so its best to come after 2 pm or before 12 pm.

    Recommendation:
    – Lenwich (On any bread)
    – Any cold cut sandwich

  3. Lenny's, or "Lenwich" as it's now called due to some sort of legal issues in NYC, has been around for a while in the Rock Center concourse and I've just never gotten around to trying it.  Armed with $7 credit from LevelUp, I decided to take the plunge.  It's definitely not for anyone on a diet, that's for sure, though they do have salads and soups… but why would you want it from here when there's better places nearby?

I went for the "original" Lenwich – pastrami, corned beef, swiss, coleslaw, and russian dressing on your choice of bread.  I think I went with whole wheat, but it doesn't matter because by the time I got back my to my desk at 52nd, the bread was soggy as hell and inedible.  Not your best takeout lunch since everything gets ridiculously soggy and gross.  Other than that, middle of the sandwich was okay – meat was hot, cheese melted, and there was sufficient amount of russian dressing (but not too much).  However, prefer heaps of sauerkraut over their cole slaw.

Lines are long, but go by pretty quickly.  You can be in and out in 10 or so minutes depending on what sandwich you order, as some take longer than others.  It smells like grease in the restaurant, by the way.

  4. Solid lunch place to get your sandwiches from.  My favorite is the Chicken Parm on a Hero which is an extra $1.50, otherwise its on a roll and it can get very soggy especially if you are getting a delivery.

Its very easy to place an order online, delivery normally runs about an hour and longer during peak lunch so order early and/or in advance if you can.  Food is delivered hot, they call your cell phone when they are near so that by the time you get down they will already be there.

Their sandwiches are excellent too, and they will cater and deliver if you have a work meeting or a party or any other event.  I been eating from them for a long time and never have been dissapointed with food, service or delivery.

  5. Best chicken avocado sandwich!!! The chicken is so tender and huge size, avocados taste fresh and the pepper really add the perfect balance! I love Lenny's!!!

  6. Lenny's is my go to place for sandwiches. The sandwiches are also very large. My personal favorite is the Smoked Chicken Deluxe. It is a breaded chicken cutlet and grilled pastrami with melted smoked fresh mozzarella cheese, pickles, lettuce, and tomato.

  7. Got the Lenwich and it was great! Such a good place to stop for lunch when you're in the area. It's a dollar or two more per sandwich than competitor Potbelly nextdoor, but it's so much better. You get a lot more meat and toppings on your sandwich and they really stuff it more than you'd expect. Usually end up spending $7-9 for a lunch here. Line moves very fast too.

  8. Haven't tried their sandwich yet but I liked their coffee a lot. Will for sure drop by next time given the high ratings from other yelpers and suggestion from my friend.

They also have calorie count next to the food options, very useful piece of information for people like me who counts those numbers!

    Happy Thanks Giving!
