When on the run and you want to grab breakfast or lunch, you cannot go wrong with Lenwich. They have very good lunch menu selections that include interesting food combinations. Their service is friendly and fast along with reasonable prices.
Came here expecting the worst but it actually ended up being ok. I got here at around 5pm to pick up a sandwich for dinner at work and there was like no one in the restaurant. I have to admit, the decor kind of surprised me since I had imagined it to be a mess but the tables were actually really clean and the ordering area was pretty spacious. The workers were also all really nice.
I got the #1 Lenwich for $8.70 and I thought it was alright. It has pastrami, corned beef, cole slaw, Russian dressing, and some sort of cheese so it's basically an NYC Reuben sandwich. While it was tasty, it wasn't mindblowing. It was filling though so the price tag is reasonable. Overall, just another typical establishment nestled among a whole slew of other mediocre restaurants in a super dull neighborhood :/
Let me preface this by saying that Lenny's is pretty expensive, and I will not be a regular. I have gone twice for lunch and both times, my total is been shy of $10 (and that's without a drink!) You can get a sandwich or salad. They actually have a small selection of hot entrees as well. My favorite sandwich is the Emma (ham, turkey, cole slaw, russian dressing, swiss cheese) on a hero. I added alfafa sprouts one time, and it was delicious.
The wait time is really short, even during the lunch rush hour. The sandwich makers are super fast, and you pay for your sandwich before you get it, so it's really efficient. If the prices were a bit lower, I would totally be here multiple times a week. But alas, it's not sustainable on a graduate student budget.
Protip: If you download their app or Levelup, you can get $7 off your first purchase!
It's located right on first ave between 68th and 69th Street and it's a pretty convenient sandwich shop since I work at the hospital right across the street. They serve other things like salads, wraps, bagels, and other breakfast items.
Service is fast and there's a seating area, but during lunch time it gets really crowded. I guess that's a good and bad thing because it's a popular spot for their sandwiches, but sometimes hard to find seating.
I've gotten the Lenwich sandwich on a hero, which came out to a little over $10. So it's a bit pricey. It's a hot pastrami, corned beef, melted Swiss, coleslaw, with a Russian sandwich, and let me tell you that I have never ever been a fan of coleslaw, but if it's in the Lenwich sandwich I'll definitely eat it. Every time I get it it always hits the spot. I definitely recommend it if you aren't sure of what to order. Bread was very soft and it's like everything in the sandwich fit perfectly together.
Service is fast, sandwich was made in under 5 minutes during lunch hour. You pay for whatever you want to buy once you order it. The place is generally kept clean although sometimes I do notice a few flies flying around in the place.
We got catering from this place for a work event, and I really enjoyed the wraps I had:
1. Tuna salad wrap: It tasted fresh and had the right amount of flavor. It wasn't very runny, which can be a problem with tuna salads.
2. (Fried) chicken wrap: Well, this is a first, but it works! It's literally fried breaded chicken breast in the wrap.
I also had a plate of brownies and cookies, which were all pretty awesome!
I have been here several times!!! They are always oh so busy. Since it is very close to the hospital, there is no surprise there. They have a sandwich station and a salad station. My reviews is for the salads. They are delicious, fresh ingredients and a variety of ingredients. The establishment is clean and tidy. They are quick on service. I love having my salad with mixed greens and grilled chicken. Great spot for lunch. However do not expect to find a table, during lunch hour unless you arrive there at 12pm on the dot. If you can take your lunch to go, then do take out.
I went here on a Saturday for a quick lunch before my stroll through Central Park. I ordered the Joe on a hard roll and it was simple and delicious. One thing I could be better if the sandwich came with mayo or any sort of dressing. I was in a rush and I didn't realIze that the sandwich didn't have mayo. It wasn't a big deal, it was my fault, but I was under the assumption that mayo came standard with most sandwiches.
Delicious sandwiches and wraps. By far best sub sandwiches I've had. I work at a hospital near by a Lenny's and patients and their families order this for us all of the time. The wraps just melt in your mouth and have an amazing sauce that separates them from other sandwich shops.
Most of my coworkers order there consistently and everyone at work loves it. They are easy to order from whether using over the phone service or online. Customer friendly and attentive. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and wraps and will tailor them to your personal liking. I would definitely recommend for a good lunch spot. I give this place Two thumbs up!!
