  1. Liberty Park Cafe looks like an old trailer/truck rest-stop but its all Jersey Diner material (Greek Diner).

My husband will rave about their coffee, I just think its a good diner cup of Joe (real American cup not any of that super fancy Starbucks over-burnt beans brew), but like well balanced Arabica beans.

Their menu items are standard for a Greek diner with their all day breakfast and greek favorites.  To date, I have rarely ever gotten in there and not been seated right away.

Their food is just right, consistent and if your craving diner, this won't disappoint.  The walls are adorned with Little Rascals and old JC nostalgia.  The host, which I am also assuming is the owner, is a super sweet guy that makes you feel like he is welcoming you into his home.

We've ordered food to go from here before and while we waited, we were treated to a nice cup of a coffee and a friendly smile.  They aren't trying to rush but want you to stay and hang out and enjoy their food.

Is it the most creative menu or the most amazing decor, no.  But do you feel kind of like you've found your home diner…yeah, you definitely do.

  2. Excellent & clean diners with really good price. Old US decoration and great burger. Perfect place to stop by after a walk at liberty park!

  3. Maybe the kitchen is having an off day. 2.5 stars really. The service is excellent, attentive and efficient. My M.O.M. burger was very greasy which made the oversized bun very soggy so the whole thing was falling apart. I don't like eating my burger with a fork and knife, which I had to do. On the plus, the lettuce and tomato was perfect, so are the pickles and coleslaw.

My wife had one of huge 10 oz burgers and the meat is bland – looks like it was boiled instead of grilled. There was no taste of the grill in it, and forgot to put salt and pepper.

If I return, I'll probably order breakfast.

  4. Great service, just as you would expect at a classic diner. The food is good, and the ambiance tops off the feeling of being back in the 60s!

I would definitely suggest visiting this diner anytime, not just after going to the Statue of Liberty (which it is very close to).

  5. So happy to see them still plugging away at this diner. Lots of wonderful decor about liberty Park  and New York City. Friendly waitstaff. Parking was kind of tight today. And the food remains mediocre. Good coffee though. Went there with a friend, it's a very nice atmosphere for sitting around chatting. Very comfortable seats. ATM on site. Vacuums are well-maintained.

  6. Came here with the family for a Mother's Day breakfast en route to the nearby Liberty Park. Nice diner atmosphere with decor and a friendly staff. Got some breakfast food (pancakes, sausage, eggs and more) which was a good sized portion (my table of 4 ran out of table space with all of separate orders). Prices were relatively cheap for the delicious food, and while the staff was nice, it did take a while to get refills on drinks. Overall, worth a stop by!

  7. This has got to be the best diner ever.  Prices are standard, but I must say that the service is impressive.  Our waitress was so friendly and such a jokester – we absolutely adored her.  She really did all she could to accommodate us, which we really appreciated it.

As for the food – it's typical diner food, but once again they are accommodating with turkey sausages and replacements.  Their 2×4 special is very good – toast, French toast or pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage.  So awesome.

Also a great place for groups!  Good way to wake up in the morning.  They also have a side coffee shop which is cute.  It looks huge on the outside, but it is a bit tiny, but like I said, everything about it is what a diner should be.

  8. Been to this place several times after birding nearby Liberty State Park. I've pointed out repeatedly that we keep it simple at diners. Works for us. We really like it here.

Chicken fingers and fries for the boy. Scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, home fries and rye toast for me. Good coffee. No issues ever with service.

    One of our favorite diners.
