Nice little hole-in-the-wall spot, perfect if you're visiting the Empire State Building.
A little cheap looking, of course, but really good pizza for the price. Got a couple pepperoni slices. Nice crisp crust, decent sauce, not overly greasy, fairly large slices.
There's a pizza place near my office back in Florida that's based on this style of pizza, so it's nice to see a NYC place that has this style (and do it better of course, with that superior NYC water for the dough). Are there better slices in New York? Sure, but I think this place is the best balance between a good price and a good slice.
Pretty good for off the street pizza. We walked to the hotdog place next door and also decided to have a slice to share. It was good pizza, nothing too spectacular, but good for a bite to eat for sure.
I would try it if you are in the mood for pizza.
I got two slices of cheese pizza and want more. I'm not from NYC but have had my fair share of NYC pizza. They were about $2 a slice. You can add oregano, pepper flakes and parm using the shared containers. The man was nice enough to bag my pizza so I could take it to go. They are placed on flimsy paper plates in placed in a white paper bag. Could get messy but we were staying close by so it was worth it. I called at 2am and they said they close at 5am (which was sunday morning)
Is this pizza joint in every tourist book throughout the world? Why then is it always so crowded?
Put it on top of my list for worst slice in NYC. Went for Sicilian but that pie and the Grandma pie looked so beyond bad, I opted for the much better looking mushroom slice.
The sauce was pure paste, the cheese- very little and flavorless, the mushrooms from a can but the best part of the slice, and the crust- flavorless, inedible, hard as a rock. Rudest service ever The guy yelled at me when I asked if I could pick my slice. He said they are all the same. I said nope- half the pie is burned, I want the underdone slice. He didn't listen. And I wish I had just walked out!
The typical NY pizza place…. That sells average pizza. Honestly there's nothing good that I can say about this place, but nothing horribly bad either. I ordered a spinach with mozzarella slice and a chicken with broccoli slice. The both tasted okay, I definitely like the chicken one more. The spinach slice tasted like it's been out for too long, and with the whole reheating thing, the spinach just tasted burned after that… So I didn't find the slice very fresh. Also, even though I like the thin crust, the bread tasted so dried and unpleasant. I can't put my finger on the exact taste… But overall, the pizzas just satisfied my hunger, and that was that, I can't say that I enjoyed eating them.
So many high star reviews, I think the pizza here is OK but Vezzo nearby is better. Crust was better than average but otherwise, everything was just OK.
3.2 or so.
Decent pizza for the area
Small seating area that is packed during lunch time but seats open up fast
Good for a quick bite
I had a slice of cheese pizza while on the run for an event. The place is by the slice. It was quick, and tasted just fine. Nothing crazy, but it wasn't terrible and it did the job. I don't think it was remarkable enough that I'd go out of my way to try it again, but if I were in the neighborhood I'd go again for a quick bite.
