  1. Had been to the Darien location a few times years ago and never knew they had a Greenwich location.

Thai is one of my favorite ethnic foods so when some coworkers suggested here for lunch I was more than happy to come along.

We had 5 people which is a lot at this little spot but we got a table no problem around 1:30 on a Friday.

Lunch specials are a great value and portions are generous. Loved my veggie spring rolls and tofu pad thai.

Everything came out hot and fresh. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I remember liking the pad ped so I'll have to try that again next time!

  2. Not bad for the area!  I still prefer Queens for my Thai food though.  We sampled the chili tofu, drunken noodles, and red curry with veggies.  The flavorful drunken noodles were my favorite.  We asked for hot sauce on the side because the food was not spicy at all (for us at least).   The staff was nice and prices were reasonable.

  3. OMG – really good thai place!

    Food is very flavourful!

Take-out is very fast – ordered the food on the phone and arrived 8 mins later and the food was ready for pickup!

Ordered the Thai Basil Eggplant – and it was so good! Very flavourful and has a very minor kick to it!

The pineapple fried rice is slightly different from the typical pineapple fried rice – this one had curry flavour and boy were they generous with the pineapple and veggies – almost thought the rice was just the garnish.

Will be back to try more dishes!

  4. I usually place an order here for take out and probably have eaten inside the restaurant only a handful of times – the dining area is too small. Today, I ordered a shrimp pad see ew and a thai iced tea to go. The serving was big and it was really tasty -they don't skimp out on the shrimp either… yummy lunch=happy me!

  5. The kitchen at Little Thai Kitchen is undoubtedly little, so little that you can see how authentic meals happen by glancing through the saloon doors. Every Buddha sculpture calculatedly placed inside the niche is little. The whole restaurant is as little as an apartment in Greenwich. The streets are little, although parking isn't a headache. The strangely narrow wooden tables, which were not produced to be at the same height, make me conscious of my remote distance to the food, while my legs and the table legs are in a tight, unknown quarrel the whole time.

Compared to the little unsophisticated fixture, probably chosen for a cost-saving purpose, its authentic quality is high enough to persuade diners to come back. Each meal is expected to be in family style. Somtum, noodles, soups, etc., each item in the menu comes with an implication of sharing with a group. As a family dinner satisfies many people at the same time, the seasoning of herbs and sauces pleases the majority. I've satisfied not only my appetite but also my taste buds at LTK. Thai food for a usual Asian diner like me reaches its standard here, in this little kitchen in Greenwich.

  6. I would imagine that delivery is a significant part of an Asian restaurant's business.  That's why I just don't get it when places put so little effort into it.  Just a disappointing delivery experience.  The guy handed me the bag and didn't even care to say a word or acknowledge the transaction.  There were no napkins or silverware.  Luckily, the things I ordered lent themselves to chop-sticks.

First I tried to vegetable dumplings and these were bad.  They didn't seem fresh at all.  They were like chewy or something.  They did come with a nice flavorful sauce.

Then the veggie spring rolls.  I know… that's a lot of apps, but I had to meet the $20 order minimum they have set for GrubHub.  So anyway, the spring rolls were better than the dumplings.  I wouldn't say great.  I should've asked for some hot sauce.  I definitely missed doing that.

On better news, the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) were pretty good.  They had a bit of spice in them and the taste was nice.  So although it was the only good part of this whole experience, it was good enough that I'm intrigued.  I mean, there's a LOT of great reviews for LTK… so maybe I just had a one-time bad experience.  I probably won't have another opportunity in this particular stretch of being in the area, but perhaps sometime in the future if I'm back.

  7. I must say, excellent, very flavorful Thai!

  8. So this is my first 2 star review… which should have been 1 star based on my last experience but I'm lacking a 2 star review so these guys got SO lucky.

I first went to this place a few years ago and would have given it a solid 4 stars if not 5. The food was great and tasted very authentic.

The last and final trip was a couple of months ago. We were early for lunch, the first ones there. The papaya salad was pretty good, but then again you just cannot mess it up. Then I ordered a steamed fish trying to be a little healthy. Firstly it took a while to come which was suspect. Then I looked over to the kitchen, which is almost an arms length away because this place is so tiny, and saw that there was something in the micro… WHAT???? Something in the micro wave???? Are you joking? It better be one of their meals not mine. So I kept looking and then the timer bell rings and it opens up to reveal what was about to be my fish. This was just nuts. Microwaved fish at an otherwise good Thai joint?? Anyway, I let it get to the table, maybe it's good, who knows….. EEEEEWWWWWWWW and then sent back right away, I was done eating.

    Cut to:

Wife: "I know you're not coming here again"

Me: (so angry I was fuming and trying not to let it be a joke) Check please…

Done, finished, no more, never again.

NOTE: LTK recently opened at the Scarsdale Station, go there before it's too late, the food is still good there. It's mostly takeout which mean you can't complain about microwave food. Eat in and BYOB (it's allowed)

    The Good:
    – used to have good food minus the fish
    – I will never go back
    – It's out of the way anyway

    The Bad:
    – Microwaved meals (TV dinners)
    – Service with the frown
    – Grumpy
    – Mean

    The Ugly:
    – see "The Bad"
