Lobster House Joe’s
“It's not cozy or trendy like certain chain restaurants, and the fluorescent lighting needs the boot, but the food and the service was really good.”
“Thankfully my mother in law was thrilled to have her favorite their baked clams, scampi and fried calamari!”
“Love the King Crab Legs, Honey Teryiaki Calamari Salad, etc. Great family place reasonably priced with great service.”

Great local place with fresh and affordable seafood. I usually get the grilled swordfish special and it is delicious. One time my fish was raw in the middle, but when I brought it to their attention they corrected the mistake. It comes with a horseradish sour cream sauce and it is really, really good. Their oysters rockerfeller are pretty delicious also. When I don't mind putting some effort into my meal, I'll order the king crab legs if they are available. Always fresh and never disappoints. Most recently I ordered the crab sauce and linguini. Best crab sauce I've ever had. I love that sauce. The sauce here is awesome to begin with…throw some crab meat in there and wow. I love spicy but the hot sauce is a little too much for me & I'd recommend going with the medium sauce. Even my husband orders the medium and he handle hot way better than I can. I've never had a bad meal at Joe's and I'm looking forward to my next meal there soon!
i came here with a girlfriend because we were craving some local seafood in the area. The parking lot is really small so your better off with the street parking. Its located on a main avenue so you cant miss it.
The place was crowded which is a good thing, very casual too, we ended up sitting in a really big table I guess there was nothing left. We got our menus and bread with butter and waters. After maybe 15 minutes we were still waiting to have our orders taken! That was so annoying, we had to hunt down the waiters to just get whatever we wanted. I AM SO ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Blah
We had the mussels in white wine sauce, really good and a lot, so def. share!
Baked clams- also really good and we got 8, just between them and the mussels we were getting full already. Love the sauce, dip it with bread!
Main entree- I had the grilled tilapia in oreganato that came with fries. I like the way the food was cooked and came but it didn't taste like it was flavored with anything it was plain and no flavor just oil. That was a disappointment! & the fries weren't all that so I don't know what people meant about how good they were. My gf had the fried scallops which was really fried, so it was kind of like burnt, it was okay.
I would come back to this place and just try the lobster and crab legs in a bucket, they look really good and def. the mussels and clams. I hope they don't take more than an hour to cater to us and then come back around to bring us the check. That was really annoying. I understand the place was busy but I don't even think they had a waitress for the area we were in, and if thats the case then don't sit us there. But even the other customers in the table next to us were waiting a long time too.
Heard great things about this place, I read reviews an decided to give it a try. I wasn't that impressed, I walked in an was stared down by staff an the hangout that was near the entrance of the door, instead of being welcomed an seated.
OK so I guess it's seat yourself!? I seat myself an about 3 minutes later the server brings the menus.
I ordered appetizers for my boys an 2 entrees, my husband wasn't to empressed by the "Joes Special" it looked amazing but was very bland. He never complains about his food so the fact that he wasn't impressed bothered me.
My food was okay I did enjoy it but I'm very simple to please pasta chicken some cheese I'm a happy lady, I'm hoping to give this place another try soon an hoping I have a better experience with both service an food.
If I hadn't found this place on Yelp there's no way I would've ever found it. It doesn't stand out at all, and we almost drove right by it. All I wanted was some clams on the half shell, a lobster, and a wicked lemon-y frutti di mare salad. I got all of this and it was fucking delicious. The food was so good that people were borderline licking their plates (which was actually disgusting to watch)
HOWEVER, my lobster came with a side of linguini with sauce..I opted for the spicy sauce. It was honestly the worst sauce I've ever tried, it made Ragu look like a five star homemade sauce. Needless to say, I didn't eat it and they should probably just stop offering it because it was an embarrassment.
Their prices are insanely reasonable, and the seafood was awesome. My boyfriend got lobster bisque, fried calamari, and their crabcakes and loved everything. We'll definitely be going back
Not a bad spot for local seafood. I must say the service is pretty horrific. Most reviews state that, yet the owner doesn't assess and improve his business. I guess he doesn't like money? Most of the time you feel ignored and like you're bothering the waitress. Would I ever go here with my parents? No, they won't go near a place that doesn't employ great staff.
Wine is $6 per glass-not bad. Last night the Chardonnay tasted like it turned. Did I complain? No, once again-service isn't their forte. It all tastes cheap, but you're not here for the booze.
The four stars? The stuffed lobster. Not the brown/borderline slimy cucumbers in the salad I was served last night. This is solely four stars for the lobster. It's a fair price-always under $30. It's stuffed, literally, with this really delicious crab stuffing. The owner does not skimp here. The lobster is usually cooked just right. I do wish they cracked it more, but like I said you're not here for any sort of service. Stuffed lobster. Get it with the fries.
Such good seafood, whether you're dining in or taking out. I have had their crab cakes, fish and chips, shrimp balls (amazing), clam chowders, fried calamari, fried clam strips and lobster bisque. No meal is ever disappointing. Even their linguine & clams are actual clams, which is very rare nowadays. Usually, restaurants use the clam sauce in the jar, but not this place! It's nice to see seafood actually being used in a dish! Very inexpensive & ever since they renovated, there is much more room. Parking lot is small, so I usually park on the street.
I am willing to give this place another try, but I do want to share my first experience.
Went there with my husband. It's not new, but well kept. It has it's charms. Not a place for a date, but ok to hang out in.
My husband ordered a shrimp dish, which was fine. I love crab cakes so that's what I went with. What came to the table was a breaded hockey puck. I'm not even sure if there was any crab in it. I swear they took something out of the freezer and just threw it in the fryer. When the waitress asked if there was anything wrong, I said it's not very good. She said "Oh then you should have ordered the fresh one". WHAT?!?!? If you had something good and REAL, then why the hell are you offering this thing?
Very casual, very neighborhood…
Lobster is fresh, and you gotta try those french fries – delicious to the last bite!
A bit on expensive site for casual place like this, but hey, it is lobster we are talking about!
Love new bigger space – and it is still charming as ever.
Will be back for sure.
