  1. Honestly I don't even know where to begin…I decided to come to Lonestar Bar & Grill with a few friends to watch the NBA game. We ordered 22 wings, beef/pork sliders w/ sweet potato fries, & fries w/bacon. Our food took nearly ONE HOUR just to arrive!!! Really?!! The bar itself had about 7 patrons. When I asked about our food the bartender said it should be coming out. When it arrived the bartender apologized and said their was a lot of guests in the back. OK, at least she apologized. As if waiting for our food weren't aggravating enough, we were seated near these two drunk guys who tried to have a conversation with us. Heyyyy we're all about making new friends but they were throwing complete shade at my boyfriend and make inappropriate a** comments. Like dude chill the F*** out and let us enjoy the game!!! I responded and told him "that wasn't cool." He immediately apologized. okay whatever, all is forgiven. I'm just saying just because you work there/is hella cool with the bartenders there's no need to make others feel uncomfortable. The last time I checked you guys tried to talked to us first.

Lone Star Bar & Grill seems like a decent place to chill, just not a place for me. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Food takes forever and not interested in dealing with nonsense! Obviously, anywhere you go will have BS but after last night  I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. First and last time!!

  2. It's been a while since I have been here.  Food and drinks were good.  Service was attentive.  What more could you want really?  Good spot to stop in for a drink and watch the game.

  3. Staff holiday party was held here for the past two years.

Decent bar fare and drinks. the staff are friendly and don't get completely annoyed with the amount of people associated with our group hounding them for drinks.

They have a great back patio that we don't get to truly partake in b/c we come during December. If you're there with a group you're gonna have fun.

  4. Lone Star is kind of Texas themed, but mostly not. The walls have more New York sports memorabilia than anything. But I guess at the end of the day, I really don't care either way because it's a solid sports bar.

Tons of TVs, though when I was there, they tuned them all to the same game while others were going on.

There are definitely regulars who come here, and you'll be able to spot them from a mile away.

The back of the bar has some old quarter slot machine style games, which is pretty retro.

    Surprisingly good beer selection too.

  5. Came here to hang out with some girls and had a great time!
Didn't come here to watch sports, but they def had a lot of TVs for those that did.

The crowd is a big more "mature," food was not served after like 10 and the drinks are made strong 🙂 We had a good time and I would come back with the girls 🙂

  6. Out of all the bars dotting Bay Ridge, Lone Star is one that I regretfully do not visit as much as I would like. Sparsely decorated and modest–yet spacious and perfect for a casual tshirt-and-jeans kind of night. I never knew this, but the barbecue here is fairly impressive–get the pork ribs, which are tender and deliciously slathered with a perfect layer of barbecue sauce. You can't go wrong with curly fries EVER, and this together makes for a pretty rockin' meal. Taking it a step further, go for the sweet chili chicken tenders and hungrily snatch them up before the half-drunk friends you are sharing them with realize how good they are.

In the summer, the outside patio opens up which completes the formula for a good night. The owners are stellar people as well, and this kind of set-up is what makes Bay Ridge the place to be.

  7. I came here several days ago to watch the "fight of the century" pffffffffft..another story for another time. Anyway, I was scouting out places and this place seemed like they had the best deal. If I'm going to pay a cover, it better have drinks included. This place did, with food, too.

Over the phone, the lady told me that the open bar would start at around 8. I call the day of the event and someone tells me 9, but I should get there at 8 to make sure I have a bracelet for the open bar/food. I got there around 7:15. It wasn't too crowded, and we got a table near a TV. Score! There were board games to keep us entertained for the next hour and 45 minutes…but then we got really bored and hungry. I asked for the menu to see if I could start off with an order of fries or something for the table…I was told the kitchen wasn't open due to the "special menu" for the fights. Fair enough.

But then when the main event started, there was a 20 minute wait for the food. The wrapped around the inside so many times. I'm sure it was well-thought out, but something with the food situation needed to be fixed. Nobody wants to pay $50 to watch the fight but not be able to eat almost whenever they want, and miss parts of the main event. The food, besides the ribs, wasn't even good. The open bar made everything worth it. We got our drinks pretty fast, and got to sit back down. Drinks were strong so we didn't have to make too many trips over to the bar. Thank goodness we got a table, because we would've disliked our experience here even more if we had to stand admist the huge crowd that had gathered in there.

I would love to come back here when there isn't some big sports event going on. But when there is an event, it's just too hectic and too much of a headache to deal with the crowds (yes, crowds everywhere, I know) for the amount you pay. If they could get the food situation figured out better, I would reconsider.

  8. Best pork ribs!!! To die for!!! Owned by friendly, genuine people. Great country music. Waitresses are friendly.
