  1. I've been here about 4-5 times and at first, the food was really good. We always order a dozen to two dozen oysters. However, throughout the years the quality in food (to me and my family) has declined. Their crab cake used to be amazing! Their oysters used to be extremely fresh and juicy. White wine here is decent, nothing special. About $20/bottle. Their new English clam chowder soup is pretty good, that's something I would definitely recommend to anyone coming here. The fish cakes were decent but honestly, I would never order them again. Their baked clams used to be really good as well, but that has also declined in quality. I guess it's time I part ways with this restaurant and off to find a new one.
The service and waiters here are all pretty friendly, but no matter how good the service is, if the food isn't good, I'll be bumping those stars down. The only thing going for this restaurant is the environment and view (even the view isn't all that great but it's something) Our bill usually comes up to $350 more or less for 4 people, which isn't too bad. But I would honestly take my money elsewhere from now on.

  2. This restaurant is located right on the water in Port Washington. The views are unbelievable, which is probably why they can get away with being so pricey. We sat outside on the patio in the shade and enjoyed looking at all of the different boats. I tried their Bloody Mary. It was good. A decent portion for $10, but nothing special. We ordered their lobster taco for an appetizer. I really liked the mixture of crunchy texture of the taco shell combined with the soft, lobster shell. For lunch, I decided to go with the crab cake sandwich. The bread was nice and flakey. Lots of lump crab. Overall, I had a nice time. The place is kinda pricey for what it is, and the wait staff isn't very helpful so that's why I decided on three stars. Also, some of the locals on the boat tour we went on told us that they all think it's gross, for what that's worth lol.

  3. I came back, maybe I shouldn't have.

I stopped for lunch on a warm spring day, just like last time.

It was not busy, it wasn't packed.  I asked to sit outside and was given the run around again. It felt like groundhogs day.

Having flashbacks to the last time, I was just getting annoyed as I was walked all over the place with the waitress looking for what seemed to be an imaginary table when I clearly saw spots open.

I finally gave up and asked to be sat inside.

Food was great as I had expected. They gain a star for that.

The service here is good, the view is great.  But after doing this twice save your money for a place that doesn't have a stereotypical type.

  4. Great spot in Port Washington with outdoor seating. Nice views of the water and relaxed vibe. Nice place to go with family or a date. Food is decent and service is good.

  5. The food and drinks are always good when I come here, despite the slow service.  However, I must say that I was here a few days ago with a big group and everything was wonderful and they were pretty accommodating.

  6. I'm not sure I agree with any of the bad reviews here. Yes – the food COULD be better but it wasn't bad by any means.

I came here with 4 hungry gfs and ordered the following: 1 dz east coast oysters, lobster bisque, clam chowder, clam linguini, rhode island calamari, 2 lb lobster, and 1/2 mashed potatoes and spinach.

In short, skip the lobster bisque (too salty) and mashed potatoes (seemed like instant mix). But definitely order the rhode island calamari and clam chowder! Those dishes were my favorite. The spinach was great as well.

We enjoyed the amazing view and 2 bottles of bubbly & white wine along with our meal. I really didn't know what to expect coming here because of the mixed reviews, but I really think if you steer clear of the dishes that other yelpers are writing about, you should be fine.

Don't forget to stop by the ice cream store next door after your meal!

  7. Another case of…. We have an outdoor area, with an awesome sunset…. So we can slack on our food.

Lets get this straight right away. Louie's is a great place. The set up, the out door area…. Bartenders while we waited were great.

Louie's food… is not good. Was it OK?? Sure, the food was Ok but they truly have some nerve charging what they do.

We waited abooooooout 25 mins, which wasn't terrible. Like I said, bartenders were cool. We got our text, and they led us right outside. HOLD UP. It was 100 degrees and we specifically said, "we want indoors". No biggie, it was a quick fix.

Food-Bleh. There is really no other word for it.

Oysters- These were a good start… HUGH and the cocktail sauce was tasty.
Lobster Bisque- room temperature, and just tasted like heavy cream
Cesar Salad app- this was tasty actually, and I wish I ordered as my main.
Burger- dry and not very tasty
Shrimp Roll- again… dry and literally NO flavor, with corn on the cob… bleh.
    Crab Cakes- Super fishy
    Fish and Chips- greasy
*as a coleslaw fanatic…. .Louie's makes an AWESOME cole slaw… but at like $5 as a side*

Everything was just SO pricey, and the service was slow…. Definitely should of listened to the reviews, and not wasted our time and $.

Would I come back for drinks?? Sure… when its not 10000000 degrees out.

  8. The view is really why people come here & you certainly are paying for the view!! The food is very pricey & not really all that worth it considering what you get. We shared the small, raw appetizer of two clams, two oysters, & two shrimp for $16; I'm glad I wasn't paying! The seafood is fresh albeit but certainly not the best I've ever had & for that price…no thanks. We then shared the appetizer crab cakes & the lobster roll. The crab cake was good, not a lot of bread filling but rather all crab, so this was definitely good. I was intrigued with the mango salsa they served on top because I've never experienced that before. The lobster roll was good but like the seafood appetizer, not the best I've had. The service was attentive, although not overly friendly, but very professional. Since we tend to try to go to new restaurants when out & about, I'm not sure we will be coming again but one never knows.
