Luke’s Lobster
“We ended up getting Noah's ark, which is 2 halves of all the rolls (shrimp, crab, and lobster) plus 4 crab claws, chips and drinks for each person.”
“Crab roll was loaded with meat, but could've used a little more butter for flavor in my opinion.”
“If $15 seems a bit steep, you can try the shrimp roll at half the price ($8).”

I don't know what's better here, the lobster roll or the lobster bisque. ,y friend and I came here for dinner before a night out and got both! Insane amount of food but literally amazing. Huge chucks of lobster and super fresh. Some people complain it's on the pricey side but common people it's lobster.
There's limited room inside so probably not best for a big group unless the weathers nice enough to sit outside. If it's less then 3 people you're good! Can't wait to go back.
Dude, if you haven't had Luke's Lobster, get to one, now!
The gf told me Luke's Lobster was a must when we are visiting the states. I thought it was just another Red Lobster, boy was I wrong.
It took a few overlooks to finally find the hole in the wall between 2nd and 3rd street on Washington, but the place was a cozy spot with about 6-10 seats for eat-in.
It took a minute or two to figure out what we wanted (even though the menu was pretty small). The employee at the cashier was probably thinking I'm crazy for taking this long, but was patient and even suggested I go with the soup combo to save a little money.
I ordered the shrimp roll and gf ordered the lobster roll, we got the soup combo that the employee suggsted that included soup, soda and chips. We weren't planning on stuffing ourselves, so we shared the meal.
I usually do not go into too much of detail of the food, but seriously, the rolls were so perfect, how could I not?
My shrimp roll, just the roll, was perfectly buttered. Not too heavy and not too light. The shrimp (to my surprise) was cold, but that made the roll very interesting since I don't think I have ever had something similar.
Gf said her lobster roll, was perfectly buttered as well and the seafood was fresh as fresh could be!
The only downside to our experience was the $35 bill for lunch. Other than that, the place was clean, employees were nice, food came out quick and was fresh!
When and if I do come back to NJ, Luke's will be on my checklist of things to eat. I'm glad I don't live in the states anymore because I would so be bankrupt if I had access to such awesome seafood rolls.
After a trip to Maine a few years ago, I sometimes get a craving for a good lobster roll and struggle to find the right lobster roll near me. So with a few friends, I trekked to Hoboken to try this place out. It's a very small restaurant with about 5 seats inside and 3 tables outside. It felt a bit stuffy and I doubt the place has air conditioning. Its very cute inside w/wooden planks for wallpaper, cute billboards about lobsters, and Maine vacation posters/signs but it def did not feel like Maine.
Now to the food. It's pricey as a lobster roll (sans any sides or drinks) is $17. Add drink and a side and it's $20.I'd recommend the Taste of Maine ($24), which is what I got. It came with halves of their rolls (lobster, crab, and shrimp) so 3 halves, 2 crab claws, chips or slaw, and a nonalcoholic drink. It seemed like a better deal though it was alot of food and I couldn't finish. The lobster is w/o mayo which I liked! It was delicious, flavorful, and tender – not exactly like Maine but good nonetheless. The buttered roll was hot and soft – a perfect compliment. I wasn't a huge fan of the crab as it was sort of a huge clump of crab in a roll but the shrimp were very well seasoned. The slaw was delicious with good flavor! The crab claws were sort of bland and nothing special.
All in all, I will be back as this is a very good lobster roll, maybe even the best in the Hoboken/JC area!
Ahoy mateys! Ready for some fun! (Queue sponge bob square pants theme song) we actually did takeout with Luke's since I was lazy and didn't want to get out of the apartment and made my husband run and get me food (it's been a long day!) LOL. We called and placed the order for Noah's ark(two of everything) it they said it'll be ready in 5 minutes. Wow that's some service! Fast efficient and delicious. What else could I ask for?!???!!!
Ordered a lobster roll from the Luke's Lobster truck on the pier in Hoboken. I was definitely blown away by the freshness of the lobster and it was deliciously moist butter in a toasted roll. Washed it down with their root beer and enjoyed this all by the waterfront in Hoboken. $17 for a roll but every bite was worth it. They also take credit card at the truck, and there were plenty of tables and seats the enjoy the view. I'm already craving a monster roll right now as I am making this review and want to go back asap!
OMG, the food is SO EXPENSIVE! I mean $15 for a lobster roll is ridiculous. And yes, it is pricey but I have news for you, prices are printed on the menu. If it's too expensive go somewhere else. There's no gun to your head forcing you to order anything. You can probably get a Big Mac and maybe even some fries for under $5.00. The problem is that lobster isn't cheap. It is, however, really delicious. But why is it so expensive? Ever see Deadliest Catch? It's like that but with lobsters in New England rather than the Bearing Sea and catching the little bastards is probably just as hard. I really don't know but if The Discovery Channel does a show on it, I'll watch and report back to you.
Is Luke's cheap? Hell no but what can you get that's this good for a lot less money? In my book, nothing. Their food is outstanding, as is the service and the ambiance. But again, as NUMEROUS reviewers have stated it's not cheap and I'm here to tell you, it's worth every delicious bite. So if it's too expensive, shut the hell up and go to Burger King. Point made?
We came here with a group of coworkers for lunch. Hoboken is not well known for having a variety of lunch places, but I'm glad there's at least a decent place for lobster rolls close by.
The place is small, but super cute! There's flowers everywhere and the signage and decor is lovely. We did take-out, but I wouldn't mind dining in by the windows.
I've had Luke's Lobster at a bunch of places, and I have to say I really do love it here. I love the fresh lobster, the toasted bun, the perfect sauce. However, I don't love the prices…… $18 for a tiny roll?! When we received our lunch, we all felt that it was "light". BUT you can't say it doesn't taste good, because it does.
Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars – only due to the value factor. I'm not sure I would come back here because it's SO expensive compared to what you get, but I'm rounding up because the quality of the lobster roll was still solid. If you have an insatiable lobster craving please go here. If not, you might be wondering why you paid almost $20 for lunch.
Went back to this place again for a late lunch and expected to see some purell wipes after reading Josh's reply on my previous review. But there were none….!!!
The food was still tasty so it's okay.
I found out about the stamps only today!! We were missing out on the stamps all these time! Make sure you ask for a stamp card if you are a regular here and start collecting for that free lobster roll!
