  1. had number 7 with muenster cheese. it was alright but really nothing special. taste like..well a lunch box sandwich. the ingredients are fresh but the bread is kind of hard. it satisfies the sandwich fix if you have one but its really meh.

  2. In need of a satisfying sandwich, I walked over to the LunchBox on my break and ordered #6 – smoked turkey, avocado, sprouts, sundried tomato, and mayo on seven-grain.  This sandwich was everything I wanted – fresh, quality ingredients on delicious hearty bread.  Plus, who doesn't love spending under $10 for a filling, healthy lunch?  I will definitely be back soon!

  3. Awesome little lunch place, though it's not really meant for eat-ins as there's only four stools at a narrow window table. It is a tiny tiny place. Luckily, it wasn't crowded when I was there with my friend and we were able to sit and eat. It's kind of pricey, but the veggies and everything are fresh. The French bread was good too. Would be back.

  4. I went with the No. 5, a roast beef sandwich ($9) on baguette with Dijon over mayo. A hearty baguette, a good amount of roast beef, not overloaded with muenster, juicy tomatoes. A reasonable size sandwich where you get torn between stuffing yourself by finishing the whole thing, or saving half for later.

While I did not notice the deal when ordering, you can also get a soup for a few dollars more.

  5. Went here to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. I was pretty hungry so I decided to go with a #6 and sesame bagel toasted with cream cheese.

The sesame bagel was delicious as it was perfectly toasted and had a lot of flavor. There was also a generous spread of cream cheese which really added to the overall bite as well.

The #6 was pretty good–but was not the best sandwich I've ever had. That being said, it was still decent and was a good size for the price. I would be more inclined to order a different sandwich and maybe get it on a bagel instead of their 7-grain loaf.

Overall, this place serves up some decent food and has the assembly line down pat. If you are looking for a quick bite to have on the go, this is your place.

  6. I miss this place so much. I used to work right down the block and this was my favorite place to go for lunch in Hell's Kitchen. It's a tiny place, tucked in between a bunch of other stores on 9th Avenue but you can't miss their sunny, yellow awning.

I've been here many times. My boss and I used to order lunch from here and sometimes split the sandwich because they are pretty big. You could probably eat half and feel full (unless you have a big appetite). I like having food leftover for later or sharing it. And if you come here with something else in mind, you can always build your own sandwich. Their bread is so fresh and the instant you walk inside, you can smell it.

Sandwiches I recommend: the #1 Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Pesto Sandwich, the #3 Smoked Turkey, Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Honey Mustard Sandwich, and the #7 Roast Beef, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, with Horse Radish Mayonnaise Sandwich.

The Lunch Box also has a great smoothie menu, very tasty soups, and their bagels & muffins are delicious if you decide to stop in before work.

  7. Exactly what you want for lunch. Not overwhelming in size, grab-and-go, and healthy options that actually taste good. I had my fair share of the hummus and vegetable sandwich, but in all honesty my favorites will have to be the everything bagel and the tomato-basil-mozzarella. There aren't too many choices, but they have all the classics and you can create your own… Perfect if you get easily scared by the daunting choices of delis.

  8. Great place to pick up something quick. I started going here when Bread Soul closed down near my work. They also replaced my soup since it dropped on the ground due to a wet bag. The soups are also not salty which is great. I know that I'm not eating a ton of something weird.

P.S. Every time I'm here, there are always a bunch of young women who talk about their lawyer husbands. And then there are also a lot of guys in the same age range in suits–I'm assuming they are the lawyer husbands. Interesting dynamic at lunchtime. It's like going to a college corner spot but everyone is dressed up in work clothing.
