3 stars as far as Portuguese restaurants go, 4 stars for Yonkers because let's face it, there aren't that many of these restaurants around these days.
Lusitania leads a double life. On the left side of the building, there's the main restaurant, which occasionally has a special event, and I think there might be a buffet on one of the weekend nights (there used to be, call before you go there looking for it). On the right side of the building is the bar, where you will find mostly blue-collar Portuguese men, drinking beer and wine, flirting with the hispanic waitresses who end up speaking a variant of Portuguese and Spanish closer to Gallego.
Compared to the sorry excuse for Portuguese food I've found in San Jose CA, this place rocks. I know Newark is so much better, but again, for Yonkers, this place does just fine.
Oh – if you read my review for Caravela, you saw that Carne de Porco a Alentejana is $25 there. At Lusitania, it's $15. Nuff said.
