  1. I made an order on the phone and specifically asked for the beef banh mi, when I came to pick up, they gave me chicken instead…Admittedly, I was pretty annoyed but the lady at the counter tried to appease me by giving me a water bottle and told me that chicken is actually one of their best sellers. I semi reluctantly took the sandwich and left.

As a American Vietnamese, I've had my fair share of good vietnamese sandwiches, so when I found this place, I didn't have much high hopes for it. I thought that it was just going to be another one of those "Vietnamese" wannabe places with mediocre food with little regard to authenticity. Honestly, I was expecting it to be bad, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong. The sandwich was delightfully delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly and I love how it was not dried out like most of the chicken sandwiches that I've eaten. All the flavor profiles were on point and I was really satisfied with my meal. I seriously cannot wait to try the next sandwich on that menu!!!

  2. Omg the ladies here are so nice and friendly!!! But their spring rolls are really
Different from the other Viet places, it seemed like they were missing some herbs but I couldn't tell which ones.

the pho broth tastes lighter and sweeter too. Guess it was very different for my usually tastes. Still good food and reasonably priced.

  3. i have definitely had better, but if you work in the area or go to baruch college, its as good as you can get without venturing out to chinatown. it has a few small tables although awkwardly situated but with the limited space it can't really do anything about it. they have soups as well which was fine but again doesnt compare for me the real deal is in chinatown.

  4. Not that the food was anywhere near the best I've had, but I was happy to have found a viet place that delivers to the office that wasn't completely garbage.

I WAS starving so maybe that added to it, but though the broth was borderline overly seasoned, it was pretty good.

the Pho I feel gets kind of pricey if you added to it (more than it should be–but then again maybe they give you hearty portions?) and if you don't like the garnishes then you might want to ask them to leave it out before hand (they don't separate it)

The sandwich was kind of shy on the meats and what not (maybe I've been spoiled) but overall the flavor on it was fairly decent.

Time will tell if this will be my go-to spot but for now I want to be hopeful

  5. The small place is packed with hungry souls at lunch time. The Manu on the wall is in English, Chinese and the paper menu has Vietnamese as well. Do not panic if the table in front lobby are full; there are plenty of seat in the left.

We ordered Pho Chin Nam Sach , a rice noodle with beef naval and strip. Onion, scallion, basil, and lime complete the dish perfectly. The soup is more flavorful comparing to most of its peers.

  6. Solid place to grab some pho if you're in the area.  It's a dollar or two more expensive than Chinatown but still a cheap and satisfying eat.  The iced mint lemon tea was refreshing despite the sugar.  They do take credit cards but with a minimum (I think it was $10 or $15).

  7. In need of a banh mi fix while walking around the East Village, I stumbled upon this spot courtesy of Yelp. What sealed the deal was that they offer a fish option! I prefer seafood over any protein and was excited to try their catfish banh mi.

The place is really tiny. They have a few of those little toaster ovens to toast the bread so I know they can only work so fast but I waited so, so long for my banh mi. Close to 20 minutes. Ah well. I took it to go.

It was still pretty warm by the time I got home. The baguette was nice and toasty but the filling! So skimpy with everything. The catfish was actually quite flavorful and spicy but it was such small pieces that I got mostly bread in each bite.

For the price and what I got, I will not be back.

  8. We got a their Thai iced tea which was not as bitter as most places and more creamier so if you like sweeter Thai tea this is the place for you. Next time I'd go with their viet coffee just to try the hype. We got the grilled pork belly sandwich which was surprisingly dried (the meat). This turned me off immediately so I gave it to my bf to finish. Bahn mi dac biet was more flavorful and juicy. I liked the breads and fillings. We were going to eat inside but it was pretty warm inside and when we asked for it to go they turned on the AC, shoulda stayed cause it started to rain like a mofo when we stepped outside. I would come back for their pho if I'm in the area.
