Another new bakery shop appears in the heart of Chinatown on Bayard St. Looks like a new extension of M & W Bakery from E. Broadway. I decided to check it out and tried the following:
1) 2 Egg Tarts for $1.00 – The crust was soft and flaky, and the egg custard cream was creamy and not overly sweet. Pretty good egg tarts.
2) 1 bag of 8 Taro buns for $4.00 – This is new to me and not usually seen on any other bakery shops. The bun texture was soft and the taro paste was smooth, lightly sweetened and moist. You could taste the real taro ingredient. I like this bun a lot and is a must try for taro lover.
It may seem the shop has limited choices due to small space but what they offer are good quality. I will be back for more.
