Nicely set up Irish pub with a big open space. The GF and I went here to get a bite to eat before meeting friends for some adult beverages. They have a great beer selection with a lot of them on tap which I always like. We skipped apps as we were a little pressed for time. My GF got the sliders which were cooked perfectly and the fries were seasoned nicely and fresh. I got the fish and chips but instead of chips I got the curry fries. The fish was great breaded nicely and fried perfectly, but Oh man the curry fried were awesome. I wanted to get some in a to-go cup it was so good. Definitely a must get. Our waitress was really great, came around a lot and was really friendly. If I'm in the area I'll definitely be back for those fries……and beer of course.
I came here with a group of people for a birthday party celebration. The male to femal ratio was pretty even. Ladies got in free and the gents had to pay a 5 dollar cover. This place has a huge roof top area with multiple bars. There are TV's everywhere playing the games and there is ample seating. The bars get ridiculously crowded and at some points it becomes a bit of a challenge to get a drink. Make sure you go to the same bartender all night and tip him if you want consistent service. The lower level has a more club type of vibe and faster paced music is being played. Don't come here to dance… the sound system sucks.
Beers with the boys before B heads back to the West Coast. Chipotle wings were really good. Crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. A little too much gooey sauce all over, but hey, a couple of napkins and trip to the bathroom and Voila, clean hands. Also had chili cheese fries. Not bad, but the cheese didn't look so good. Ate 'em anyway. Nice friendly bartender.
Came here this past Saturday with a group of friends. We just had drinks. The drinks were good but there service was not great. The waitress had a bit of an attitude. Then I moved from the table to the bar area. The service was a little better. But I have been to Maggie's before and I absolutely love the rooftop area and the music is good. I never had food from this location but the drinks were fine. On the weekends its usually packed and quite popular in that area. I recommend anyone to go for drinks and to have a good time. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the poor customer service.
Another really good pub from the same people of Mickey's, Molly's and Nelly's. This one is going to have a roof deck. Can't wait to try it out.
The bar itself is much smaller than Mickey's and Molly's. It is set up with a small bar to the left and tables in the middle and to the right. It was packed the other night, but still really good.
The crowd had a good vibe and it wasn't hard to strike up some good baseball and hockey conversations.
The menu looked really good, but we had just eaten. I'll definitely go back to give it a try though.
I've visited Maggie Spillane's rooftop a couple of times for lunch since my mom lives in the area. This past visit I came with my husband and a few family members for lunch. On our way up to the rooftop I noticed that my husband was lagging behind, and when I went to find him he came back wearing a t-shirt given to him by the restaurant. Apparently sleeveless shirts weren't allowed. He wasn't wearing some ratty old tank top, it was a sensible top considering the heat of the day, but okay. While I never understand the point of these kinds of rules, restaurants are free to set their own dress codes and I'll respect that. At least the shirt was free.
Our waitress was somewhat stand-offish for some reason. Admittedly, it was 5 of us and some of my party couldn't figure out what they wanted to eat but no one was rude so I didn't see a problem. Either way, once we were ready to order a different waitress came to serve us. I ordered a margarita that was alright, I've had better. For my meal I had the steak sandwich. While the rest of my table had received their food, I sat there wondering where mine was. I had to call over one of the waitresses who brought the food over and let her know I hadn't yet received my food and she said she didn't see my dish with the others. She went back and in no time came out with my plate, but it was disturbing that I had to inform someone that I never received my food. None of the waitresses seemed to have noticed.
The steak sandwich was pretty decent, I didn't have any complaints about it. But the interactions prior to eating the meal were quite weird. The staff didn't necessarily make me feel very welcome so while the food was good, I'm not necessarily rushing to go back.
It's an irish bar…any average irish bar is still an inviting place to have a few drinks and maybe passable food. Rory Dolan's is still my fav, but this place has a nice outside roof area with its own bar.
A few days ago, I revisited this place for my friends birthday (who had it here last yr also) again. This experience I would like to say was a little bit better than the last time.
I would like to clarify that if I could give 3 1/2 stars I would, however, because it was a better experience I decided to up the review one more star.
The night we came it was during the night of the fight so this place was PACKED. After first arriving I was worried we were going to be packed in a room like sardines like we were last year. It took us about 10 minutes to get out first drink. However, that didn't last too long because they decided to open up the back room.
Since we were a pretty large party we decided to move over there which had tons of more space and a bar area as well.
Music was average, tons of large TVS throughout the whole bar. They also had a place for people to place their coats.
My friend wound up going for the open bar option which included mixed drinks and beer. It was about $35 a person. I thought it was cool that the birthday girl gets to take part in the open bar for free if she has 10 or more people with her.
What I did find weird was Long Island ice teas and Heineken beer wasn't included in the open bar, weird.
The back room also has a bathroom which was awesome because nobody waited 15 minutes on line like we all did last year. The bathrooms were much cleaner than last year, which was nice. What was not nice was the fact that both bathrooms has NO toilet paper in them and had absolutely no paper towels either. Not cool.
All of the bartenders were really nice. The girl at the back bar was awesome and quickly served everyone.
Overall, like I said a better experience than last year. I am still waiting to come back when the upstairs is open.
