  1. Great pad thai and tom yum fried rice. Always my go to's. And the price is fair.

Basil fried rice is pretty good as well.

  2. It is rare to find a Thai restaurant around this neighborhood. The food is actually okay, I had a lot pad thai that is quite dry from other thai restaurants and I didn't have this problem with their pad thai and the drunken noodles was good. The three star is mainly for their services was not that great. When we came here around 8/9PM, there was only two other tables, when we finish our meal it took a while to bring our check and to pay we had to go to cashier to pay since we asked called her twice and she didn't come to us.

  3. I really liked the beef pat see ewe here!  Nice and a bit sweet…just the way I like it!  It was only $8 for a full dinner plate, and during lunch time it's even cheaper (and lunch time prices are every day, not just on the weekdays like most places!).  YAY to that.

  4. Yes, there's no AC, yes, there isn't much lighting. And based on the previous reviews, this place doesn't take pennies. If you been to other places on 8th ave, you also know that they don't take pennies.

My review is mostly based on the food.
I came in with a bunch of friends during the weekday lunch hour.
Was provided a glass of water and to be safe ordered the lunch social of cashew nut with tofu
I came with a spring roll (which you can choose between shumai or spring roll), salad, white rice, and the cashew nut with tofu and green peppers.

The two spring rolls were crispy and tasted fresh. The sauce that you can dip the spring rolls were a plus to its taste because it was sweet and a little bit sour.
I enjoyed the peanut sauce dressing with the salad.
And lastly, the cashew nut tofu was very sweet, but eaten with the white rice balanced it out.

    Overall a refreshing lunch.

  5. I ordered the shrimp pad thai and unfortunately got food poisoning, in which I had to rush home and the remainder of my night was ruined. None of my family who ate with me got it, & I do have a sensitive stomach but I've had plenty of pad thai before in my lifetime without a problem. As for taste, it was standard but not my favorite. Decor was okay and staff were quiet and available if needed.

  6. Came here for lunch recently and tried the lunch special which was only okay in value. In midtown the lunch specials are comparable in price but i thought i'd never say this.. The portion here is less!! Its brooklyn, shouldnt it be more affordable? The thai iced tea was good though but the menu isnt as comprehensive as most thai places i've been to. I'd come and give it another try though

  7. Living in Borough Park doesn't leave much room for dining options. Unless of course you want Asian food. All along 8th Avenue, on the cusp of Borough Park and Sunset Park, is a plethora of Asian restaurants. From Thai food to Malaysian food, it's all there.

When I am craving a bit of sweet, a bit of salty, a bit of sour, and a bit of pungent (aka Thai food),  I always choose Mai Thai. While it isn't the best Thai restaurant in New York City, it certainly is pretty good for the area.

The flavors are fresh, the service is fine, and the convenience is great.

I recommend the Pad Thai, the Basil Fried Rice, and the Garlic Chicken.

Their soup selection isn't too shabby either. Go for the Tom Kha Goong.

A word of warning: Don't order to-go. You're better off picking it up yourself or making the trek on over to this restaurant. The quality is 1000 times better when you dine in.

  8. I came here with my siblings and my nephew a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. It was a horrible experience and I will not go back here.

We came across this place and decided to try it out since there isn't any Thai restaurants by me. When we walked in, it was empty, we were the only ones there. The girl behind the counter greeted us nicely and a waitress took us to our seats.

The restaurant was EMPTY and she decides to seat us at the very corner, without any room for a high chair ( my nephew is 1). I explained to her that we needed a highchair and she suggested that my nephew can sit in the corner without a highchair.

Without her permission, I moved to the middle, where there is more space. We were finally settled in and barely had time to look over the menu to see what we wanted to order when she came over asking us if we were ready to order. I told her nicely that we needed more time. She then gives me a unpleasant look.

We finally ordered and their food wasn't GREAT, but it was decent. Our waitress did not come to refill our glasses. Nor did she come to check up on us to see how we're doing. Instead, there were a few kids (I'm assuming it was the owners kids) that were running around and suddenly the music volume increased (very suddenly), causing my nephew to get scared. I quickly got up to complain to them and the girl behind the counter LAUGHS and lowers the volume.

This place is extremely unprofessional and I do no suggest people to come here.

    Sorry, one star.
