I not only bought their mustard, I got their French hand or dish towels as well.
The various flavored mustard can pair with duck or ham or cheese etc… However you want to enhance the flavor of your food or sandwich or appetizers and cold cuts.
I love mustard, and this place is a mustard-lover's dream! I wandered in here on a Friday afternoon while shopping in the area when I saw some of the mustard's in the window, and so glad I did. They have samples of almost every mustard in the store available to taste, assorted vinegars as well as a variety of mustards on tap. I sampled many of the flavors and and ended up settling on a mustard with carrot and shallots. It tasted amazing, and was a great accompaniment to a salad that evening. I couldn't get Maille out of my mind, and the next day I made my way over and grabbed two more bottles (pesto & arugala and a toasted onion & wild thyme) to take home. Yes it is pricey, but it's so worth it. Pretty sure I'll be ordering more mustard online until I make another trip to NYC.
Any place that has a mustard tap immediately has my attention. I stopped in while walking somewhere else and walked out spending $45 on mustard I didn't know I needed until I tasted them, and then walked out wondering how I lived without it for so long.
Sampling is encouraged and suggestions are just a question away. We asked a lot of "What would you use this for" and were given great advice. I can't wait to try my black truffle mustard, saffron mustard and horseradish that I originally bought as gifts but decided hosting a dinner and allowing them to use a small bit of it is probably more appropriate so I can ensure they don't waste it on something as simple as white bread and a ham sandwich.
