  1. mama roses doesn't have the worst pizza i've ever had. but after seeing the holes (from all the grease) in a co worker's paper plate after he finished his slice i was a little disturbed. sure.. i like greasy food.. but this was a little too much.

the sizes only come in small, large, or XL. they were out of the XL dough so we ended up with a large. we had a pepperoni and sausage pizza. when we called back to add on some garlic knots they were out. it was around 8 and they were closing up on a monday night. kinda early.. but it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere so i guess it's understandable. anyhoo.. they were nice enough to deliver our order even though they were pretty much done for the night.

the pizza was actually good when it was hot. but as it cooled it got hard fast and much less appetizing. the slices were huuuuge. i could only eat one. the ingredients were not as bad as others have described it.. surprising as it was the end of the night.

if i'm ever in the area again i don't think i'll order pizza again. i hear the tuesday night special is baked ziti and is good. how much can you mess up pasta sauce and cheese? i'll update if i ever find out!

  2. STAYING at JFK Airport hotel and CRAVING PIZZA?

Sure, the pies are super huge but what about the quality? Ordered the margherita . . .  the cheese and sauce tasted like cardboard. Grease was flowing.

    Seriously.

Their other so called special is the chicken Parmesan and I could not eat past bite #2.

    Ugh.

Why did I waste my calories on these?!

    NOT RECOMMEND.

  3. I didn't see any other pizzeria's on this stretch of road, and was craving fresh pizza, so I ordered a cheese pie from Mama Rose's. I waited for the pizza, had it in my hand as soon as it was done and started eating it within minutes…my point is that it was still fresh and piping hot. Sometimes that is NOT the case with pizza and it affects the taste. But nope this pizza was fresh outta the oven.

THE WORST PIZZA I EVER HAD! The sauce was bland, the cheese seemed to be of low quality and the crust was  flavorless and tasted "papery" and was overly doughy.

On another occasion, prior to the pizza incident, I took advantage of their weekday pasta special. Baked Ziti for $4.50. It seemed to be covered in the same bland sauce that assaulted the already ailing pizza crust. It was a HUGE serving, enough for 2-3 servings and came with bread. But quantity does not trump quality. I promised myself that I I would not eat that pasta again unless I was broke and only had 5 bucks to feed myself with for a couple of days.

I returned the second time for the pizza because a lot of people do pasta poorly. Plus I didn't see any other pizza places around and I wanted pizza badly. After the pasta this place was simply unremarkable but after the pizza it just gets a rating of remarkably bad. I gave this place a second chance and they left me disappointed. I will not be going back.
