“The hot chocolate was interesting but the lavender flavor was almost overpowering – I think it would have been better with more cocoa.”

“An over-the-top adorable little French bakery and cafe on a random block on the outskirts of Soho where there's a stretch of not much of anything.”

“Definitely at the top of my cookie list, right along with Levain and Jacques Torres.”

  1. This place is heaven for people who post on instagram often haha every corner of the shop is IG-worthy, elegant and super cute! In the front, you can order things to go, or sit near the windows on some high stools. They also have an area in the back for brunch I believe, but I didn't get a chance to go back there since it was so busy.

I've heard about their lavender hot chocolate for a while, and it did not disappoint! Definitely a nice treat for a cold winter day in NYC 🙂

Good spot to catch up with friends or a brunch date! Next time I gotta try something from their bakery!

  2. The lavender hot chocolate is a must it has a unique taste to it. However, i am giving this place a 3 star because the last time I went there the hot chocolate did not smell like lavender and it also tastes just like the barista dumped a lot of syrup in it. The matcha green tea drink was quiet good, but they tend to put a lot of ice in it. Did not have a chance to try the pastries yet. The store is really cute, though. A nice place to work but it has a limit of I think 45 minute stay at the cafe chilling area.

  3. I wanted to go here to try their lavender hot chocolate and I was slightly disappointed. First it's a cute, unbeknowing shop and in the back there's more seats. But the lavender hot chocolate didn't have much lavender smell or taste. Maybe, I hyped it too much for myself, but I wanted more lavender. It was still a good hot chocolate, but nothing special.

  4. The lavender hot chocolate is probably the best thing I ever tasted. At first sip, you literally are confused because it is such a different taste but by the second sip, you realize that you have been missing out on amazing hot chocolate your whole life. The cups are gorgeous too. I ordered a salad but I can not remember the name. It had apples, blue cheese, carrots, walnuts and some other items. I really liked the salad but my only problem with it was that I constantly found huge pieces of blue cheese and either I ate a huge piece by accident or was cutting it into smaller pieces. Besides that, it was great.

  5. Cute coffee spot with decent coffee and snacks. Came here on a weekday afternoon to catch up and it was pretty quiet. There are three stools in the front by the windows and a whole dining /lounge section in the back. We ordered an americano, the infamous chocolate chunk cookie and the lemon poppyseed bread.

While the place was cute and the pastries looked delicious, I felt that the food fell a bit short. My americano was pretty good and the chocolate chunk cookie was alright. However maybe since their cookie was way over hyped, I felt I've had better cookies out there. The nuts was a good addition to the chocolate chip but does it beat levain's chocolate walnut cookie? Nah. The lemon poppy seed was also not lemony as well. While I was a bit disappointed, the place is still a cute place to hang out (and take pics for the gram).

  6. Haven't tried the brunch yet so I'm leaving out one star. However the ambience was definitely hitting my heart!

Delicious fruit cup with alright coffee. Hopefully the lunch could impress me next time!

  7. I have yet to try a croque madam that could beat this one. Although it was labeled incorrectly (it should be croque monsieur since there was no egg), it was perfect as it was crispy but not overly dry. I wish it came with a bit of a side salad. The nutty chocolate cookie was perfect and the latte was solid. I thoroughly enjoyed the food here.

The only complaint I have is that they don't have wifi (the Wework one is recommended) and it is quite slow so it isn't a good place to work unless you don't need internet. Also, there is no table service so it is a grab to go place. This is all fine bc it is quite a cute location. I would definitely be back if I am in the area.

  8. A-OK.

I stopped in on my way to Chinatown for a quick iced latte to go. It was pretty good – but too heavy on the ice for my liking. The size of a small iced latte is also about the same price for a larger, medium sized latte elsewhere in the area.

Solid latte, but I think I can do better. I might return for the teas as they do sound very interesting.
