Mama’s Southern Style BBQ
“I have gone to a whole lot of soul food places and haven't found one better than Mamma's. Even the high-end pricey places pale in comparison.”
“I normally get the fried chicken wings with Mac and cheese and greens.I've tried the Yams also.”
“I'm usually a Mac & Cheese snob, but this was the real deal; it was obviously homemade with "real" cheeses and spices.”

Came here on a wimp because I was craving fried chicken, its a cute family owned spot.
Street parking tho, so try to carpool. Also, there are only 2 tables inside, which like 4 seats a table.
The fried chicken is made to order, to call ahead so you don't have to wait a long time, I waited like 35 mins.
We got a whole fried chicken (14$), a pt of mac & cheese, and an uptown (iced tea & lemonade mix).
The chicken was super fresh, and savory. Just not as crispy as I would have liked. The mac & cheese was a bit too soggy for my taste, the pasta was well too over done. The cheese sauce was great though. The uptown was great, perfect blend, not too sweet nor sour, one of the best Arnold Palmers I've had.
The service is great tho, staff are super friendly and a big family vibe.
Def will coming back for some more chicken!
We discovered Mama's two years ago. A great day in our culinary lives.
From the fried chicken and BBQ chicken to the pork ribs to the sides, Mama's makes everything with love and serves it up with a smile. The sauce, either mild or spicy is drinkable.
For years, my son thought the best fried chicken on the planet was served at Blue Smoke in NYC. No longer. Mama's is number one in his book.
So quit reading what I have to say. Get on down to Vauxhall and get yourself some treats.
