Came here today for lunch and got the mandoo soup. The broth and dumplings were delicious and really hit the spot. I wasn't a huge fan of the pickled radishes they served but I'm a picky eater so I wouldn't count it against them. Would definitely come back and try other things on their menu!
I have not been to K-town in several years and was excited when we spotted this new to me restaurant. We went there for a late lunch. The restaurant was busy, but we managed to get the last table. Service was OK, quick at times and then it will slow down to the point where we had to track a waiter down for water refills. We ordered a goon mandoo (fried dumplings), soon doobu, and dolsot bibimbop. The food was delicious! We were very happy with our selections and left very satisfied. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Quick and convenient place to eat in midtown. We ordered the pork and vegetable mandoo, as well as the bulgogi bibimbap. Everything tasted decently good. I loved the thick skin on the mandoo and the generous amount of meat. The main downside is the price. It was $11 for 10 mandoo, which are basically the equivalent of dumplings. In Chinatown you can get 4 (bigger) dumplings for a dollar. I just couldn't justify the price on these :/
Bibimbap was good but also expensive ($16). Leaned more on the sweet side. It was a pretty large portion, but I've had better bibimbap elsewhere.
Overall just mediocre. Would recommend other restaurants in ktown over this one.
I love the handmade dumplings and the noodles. (Veg bibimbop lacks flavor.) Service is brisk but it makes it a good spot to grab dinner before a show. In and out!
This place gets packed during the week at lunch, so I've only ever been here on the weekends. Wait staff isn't super attentive, but it's not bad enough to really detract from the place.
I got the pan fried veggie dumplings and put away an entire order by myself. These things were gooooood!!! Even while eating my meal at a leisurely pace, the filling was piping hot. I like to dip mine in a mixture of soy sauce and the hot sauce they have. Delicious! Great little spot, especially if you work in or frequent the area.
There are tons of better restaurants on this block. The dumplings were okay – not very memorable. Given the quality, it's a bit overpriced for its average namesake. You can get these dumplings at other restaurants on the block and it'll probably be on par if not better. Service is also very poor and the restaurant is very small.
I would seriously give this place 4.5 stars if yelp had the half button. The Pa cheon (seafood pancake) is delicious here. I've had it in Korea and it is very comparable. The pa cheon is soft, moist and oh so savory, full of seafood and scallions. The dumplings are good as their namesake they are going to be awesome. The only ding I can make of it, is that the skin of the dumplings are too thick. I've had mandoo before that the skin was thinner and I liked that better. Although I have my reserves on the skin of the dumplings, the filling is rich and flavorful. The dumpling juices flow out as I bite into them. It really is a treat to go back to. I read before I went that the service was slow but I did not experience this when we went today (Monday) at 1215pm. They were attentive, refilled our waters, and asked us how our meal was going.
We were lured in during brunch for the dumpling-making in the windows; after all, who can resist fresh dumplings after a morning of shopping in Koreatown?
The mandoo were definitely the highlight of our meal; we got the baby mandoo, which were bite-sized, juicy, and perfect for sharing.
While the menu (understandably) focuses on a plethora of mandoo dumplings, they do have a decent but basic selection of other Korean food. I had the bulgogi bibimbap in a hot stone bowl, which was tasty but nothing spectacular. No complaints about the cold soba noodle & fried dumpling combo either, if you're a carb-lover.
I'd definitely return for their namesake dumplings again!
