Mandoo Cafe
“Steamed dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, fried rice w shrimp, shredded beef bun, chive pancakes — each one as good as the last.”
“Soup dumplings are fantastic but also love chive pancake, Taiwan dumpling, and everything else.”
“It's brilliant because it combines the juiciness of soup dumplings with the crispiness of fried dumplings, and the skin is thin.”

Newly opened Korean dumpling place which sells various Korean style dumplings. Mandoo means dumpling in Korean.
It's a very modern cafe setting, very comfortable and cozy.
They sell Korean dumplings, Chinese soup dumplings, crispy Thai dumplings, wonton soups, Chinese flower bun sandwich, curry bun etc… And also they have a breakfast menu.
You make your order at the counter and a waitress will bring your order to your table.
We tried soup dumplings, corn soup, crispy Thai dumpling and flower bun sandwich. My favorites were Chinese flower bun sandwich and Thai crispy dumplings. Soup dumplings didn't meet my expectations. Curry bun was just ok. I felt it needed more curry stuffing.
They also have coffee and tea, you can relax and have chat with your friends with light Asian dumplings.
Service is good and staffs are very friendly. Parking on the street.
Ordered take out on a Friday night and everything was definitely ready in 15 min.
The skin on all the dumplings were on point and I appreciated the ginger in the soy sauce.
The chive pancake isn't something I'd get again. The soup dumplings and tawain dumplings were decent. The shredded beef on the flower bun was flavorful and on the sweeter side. The shrimp buns were great.
A happy addition of this kind of food in the suburbs.
Looking for an authentic Asian dumpling and dim sum house without the hustle of Fort Lee, then check out Mandoo Café in Tenafly. Everything is fresh and delicious…and it won't break the bank either. Tip: Don't just order 1 thing; order a bunch of items off the menu or even off the discuss board. Dumplings…. no problem. Steamed buns…. sure why not. Soups… bring it on.
Its good and the owners seem kind and friendly, but it was not as great as I had expected. The price is awesome for brunch/breakfast sandwiches and combo, but as a mandoo lover it did not exceed my expectation.
I ordered soup dumplings and barely any soup or even juice in the dumplings. The mandoo sandwiches while they looked different than your typical breakfast sandwich it was not as great as it had looked.
However what I do want to recommend other than the dumplings are their tofu crackers. It is healthy for both adults and kids and I would definitely go back here just to buy those.
Overall A-ok but not amazing.
