  1. A delightful little spot with plenty of seats and good coffee, drinks, and pastries. Great service with friendly faces. Free and easy to use wifi, not a lot of plug if you're coming to work with your computer. They throw open the doors in nice weather. The bathroom is always clean.

  2. Manhattanville Coffee is a a coffee lover's wet (as in coffee) dream for the following reasons:
    1) Comfortable seating all around
    2) Cozy atmosphere, yet roomy
    3) No loud music
    4) Amazing Intelligentsia coffee, and organic teas

If these aren't reason enough for you, it's located near the 1+ABCD trains, City College, and some great local night life. Filled with character, Manhattanville Coffee will continue to be a go-to for me when in the area, and for when I want to score points with the Boo by bringing her some of her favorite coffee in all of NYC!

  3. This is my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood, and not just because it's the ONLY coffee shop in the neighborhood…

No, Manhattanville is so much more than that! The coffee is excellent and they make a mean iced chai. I don't really dig the sandwiches, but definitely go for a pastry or a bagel if you're hungry. Some other redeeming qualities include a kick ass music selection, friendly staff, and  really fun tip jars…

I highly recommend coming here to hit the books. There's some really productive energy swirling around in there, and I find that I can really get in the zone and get to work. Seating can be tough to come by, but if you get there early enough or hit it at just the right time during the weekend, you'll find a spot.

  4. Neat little corner shop off edgecomb and 142nd. Free wifi. Good for coffee and a scone. The cashier/ barista was friendly and recommend a good breakfast spot nearby. Lots of people here hanging out, studying, drinking their coffee. Not much of a coffee person but the iced mocha latte was yum and so was the soy chai tea latte.

  5. Starved on a beautiful Sunday morning, my friend and I walked in for some breakfast. I ordered the blueberry almond muffin with a small cup of hot cocoa for $6. I loved my muffin, but should have asked the employee to warm it up. My hot cocoa was great and the white heart stayed intact until the last drop. Great crowd on a Sunday morning with light music in the background. Perfect for folks interested in grabbing a quick bite with friends. It's an intimate space that apparently is new to the neighborhood after just celebrating their one year anniversary. Plus if you're looking to get some work done on a laptop, they have added 24 outlets under the window counter. Talk about customer service and convenience. Great place all-around!

  6. I think if I lived near here I'd probably frequent this coffee shop. However, I don't. Well, I sort of do, but the coffee here isn't good enough to lure me over to this side of Harlem.

    1) Coffee is decent.
    2) Baristas are aloof and not friendly. Maybe all the bad apples were working on the same shift.
    3) Good seating.
    4) Clean bathroom.
    5) Pastries are not good. why why why why.

  7. I love this place. I live a few blocks away, so I come here all the time.

The music is always awesome and the staff is super friendly. The prices are great, there is always somewhere to sit, and the coffee and bagels are awesome.

I've come here in groups, with one other person, and alone. I've come here to chat, to work, and to read. I've spent on any given day anywhere between one to eight hours in Manhattanville, and it is no less welcoming by the eighth hour. It's fabulous.

I really like the community seating in the middle of the shop, and everyone in there always seems friendly — even the other customers.

If you're looking for somewhere chill that's not very expensive and has great coffee and bagels, I recommend Manhattanville.

  8. Cute spot in the neighborhood. Usually you will find the window bar seating completely lined with Apple laptops – people are here to hang out by themselves and be seen with electronics ! Mocha latte is pretty delicious. I douse it with more simple syrup than I should, with a proper dusting of cocoa powder, and it's awesome.
