  1. After having been back a few times, I'm going to upgrade my previous review and add a star.  There were def a few things holding back Oktoberfest in the past, which you can read about in my previous review, but having returned a couple of times to dine in, I can happily say that some of those issues have been cleared up.

I always had great food and beer from Oktoberfest.  Quite honestly, one of the most important factors when going to a restaurant is consistency.  They have that in spades.  Thankfully those pesky customer service issues that kept them at 3-Stars seem to have been cleared up.  At the bar, I was attended to by an honest and attentive barman.  Dining in, I didn't have to wait that long to sit down, order, or pay.

If you're in the mood for good German food, good beer, and/or a good time, you should def stop by Oktoberfest.  You can read my previous review for more information, but I will again emphasize that the Black Forest BLT is amazing and you should have it with a Spaten Oktoberfest.

  2. Been coming here for years. This place never disappoints. My husband says this restaurant has the best burgers in Queens.

I get more excited about the daily specials. Today I had the fish tacos. The hostess and wait staff are super friendly and accommodating, plus this place is kid friendly. Great neighborhood restaurant.

  3. Save money on a flight to Munich and come to this place.  This is as close as you will get to actually being in Munich during Oktoberfest.

For starters they fly their pretzels daily fresh direct from Munich, you actually have to taste it to believe it.  It just melts in your mouth, get it with the beer cheese.  I normally cant even eat one pretzel, here I could just inhale two without second thought.

The beer selection is decent, and you can order in 3 sizes, the .5L, 1L, and the boot.  I normally go with the 1L as the other sizes aren't suitable for me.  If you are not sure or want to drink several beers, go with the .5L

We got a bunch of appetizers to share, everything was excellent.  The Potato Pancakes with apple sauce were perfect,  I prefer them with sour cream though.   Herring was excellent too.  The Pierogies were a bit too doughy for me, I didn't like them.

As for the main course I got the Wurst & Kassler, we all got different ones to share.  I got the Krainer and it was perfect, It didn't need mustard or anything else.  The dish comes with potatoes and kraut, both were excellent.

Service here was also good and very friendly.

I will be back here for sure.

  4. Awesome beer selection and atmosphere. Great neighborhood spot to hangout.

  5. Main reason for coming here: My boyfriend and his friends love the beer– The Spatan Octoberfest– They have it year round and from what he tells me it's only at this restaurant.

This review is long over due, I have been coming here for about 2 years now and that says a lot.

    Pros:
The food is amazing– They have amazing hot wings and Crispy Chicken Cesar Salad My 2 favs. All the sandwiches are amazing on the menu. The food is fresh and the price is very reasonable.
The staff is amazing and very pleasant!
The service is quick but at the same time you aren't rushed.
In the back they have a party room where you can have parties; I have been to a baby shower and a friends b-day party. I had a great time.

    Cons:
    So far away.

It's worth going…. You will have fun.

It's a restaurant but they also have a bar area and don't worry for the sport fans  that will come they have TV's everywhere so you wont miss a game

  6. Today, my boyfriend and I are celebrating our anniversary, and I'm up to my 500th review, so I thought it would commemorate all of these special things by reviewing the place where it all started. Thinking back to that first date, I remember quite a lot of things – waiting a little bit awkwardly for a table with our oversized beers, looking at the menu and trying to decide what I could eat on a first date without looking like a food noshing monster, and wondering if I could sneak a few photos of the entrees for my impending Yelp review (no).

I also remember how damn good the food was, though I can't remember exactly what I ordered (on any of the occasions we've visited). I realize this is not very helpful, but I do know we've had a variety of the sandwiches. We've definitely sampled the schnitzel, which is great. Boyfriend is an absolute fan of the reuben. And the sandwich leftovers and the french fries both reheat well the next day (though did I look tacky taking home half a sandwich on a first date? I don't care, it was too good to sacrifice!)

I also really love the pierogies, which I was too shy to suggest that we order and share on our first date, and had to wait 'til we came back. They're fried so they have a nice crisp outer shell that's perfect for slathering sour cream all over.

We've never had any of the entrees, but they all look really fantastic in the pictures, I think we'll have to come back for 'em.

We've also never drank a beer out of das boot, but there are plenty of good German beers that can be consumed in slightlyyyy smaller sizes.

  7. I had this place bookmarked and made plans to go here with a friend but the plans changed and I was really craving this so I decided to get takeout, I called ahead and it was ready by the time I got here. I got the bratwurst platter that comes with German potato salad and sauerkraut. Wow I must say that this food was 10x better than I could ever imagine, I never really had authentic German food and I am impressed. The sausages were flavorful yet not salty, the potato salad was amazing, I didn't get to dine in here but it's a place that I'll definitely visit again

  8. I always have a solid experience when I come here. I enjoy sitting at the bar more than the dining area because they have TVs with sporting events on and you always meet someone nice to talk to. Jan and Stephenie are excellent with remembering your order after a few visits. They make it feel like the Cheers of Forest Hills.

I fully suggest everyone order the potatoe perogies or the coconut shrimp for an appetizer, the fish tacos for dinner, and a delicious piece of German chocolate cake for dessert. Order any beer and just relax.

Occasionally they have live music and karaoke. I'm very happy Manor opened up here a few years ago and I hope they stay for many more!
