Let me start this off by saying the food here is EXCELLENT! I had the tuna tar tar and salmon appetizer. The fish was done perfectly in both dishes. And the drink I had, although expensive ($14!), was delicious.
Now for why I gave it 2 stars. I came here with a group of girls for a bachelorette party. We had a reservation for apps and drinks in the lounge part, but they were able to give us a table since most of us wanted an actual dinner. We got there at 9pm on a Saturday night, in downtown Manhattan, and we were the only people there…a bit fishy if I say so myself.
After we were seated by the only waitress in the restaurant, we ordered drinks. Came out quickly. Then we ordered food. After about 45 minutes, and multiple times asking, we finally got a bread basket. After another 20 minutes we asked the waitress (after asking the bus boy to find her), where our food was. Not even appetizers had been brought out yet. She came back about 10 minutes later saying the apologizes, but that there is only 1 chef working tonight. ONE CHEF! On a Saturday night in Manhattan!! Not even any sous chefs!
So after almost an hour and a half of waiting, we finally got our food, which was delicious.
And please mind you, that his restaurant is part of a hotel, which is even more unacceptable considering they only have 1 person in the kitchen.
This place is totally a cozy beautiful. Food was legit at great lunchtime price. Sushi was solid, decor was da bomb, music was chill…..
The bar area is pretty much the lobby. Pretty cool decor and the bar snacks are good (healthy options too!).
Avoid the special margaritas as they were premade and my friends thought they were quite bad. Also the rose sangria was terrible.
Otherwise their choice of wines & spirits was quite good.
Had a great time here last night for my friend's birthday. Was skeptical when I saw that she chose a place smack in the middle of Times Square, but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival!
She called ahead for her birthday and they reserved a special section for us and gave us free cover when we said her name. The ambiance is very cool in here, but it is an oddly shaped bar which makes moving around and mingling a little awkward. There are two bars, but one was off limits for a separate private party, so we were stuck with one very very crowded bar. Drinks were fairly expensive and difficult to actually get, but were made well. The music selection was awesome!! The dj even took requests. He was a gem.
Would I come back? Probably not. That being said, we did have a great time and the bday girl was very happy!
Love this cute place. Came here for lunch and loved the atmosphere so much. Can't wait to go back for happy hour.
Food was great… Limited menu but quality dishes. I had grilled chicken with root veggies and butternut squash purée. Delicious and only $14.
Definitely recommend for a nice, trendy and inviting place.
We stopped in for a quick drink at Maple after work on a Monday evening. I really wish I had more to say but having only had (literally) two beers there isn't much to talk about.
The décor has a rustic, old-western feel to it and the place isn't too big (at least the bar area where we were). Our waitress was nice and brought our drinks rather quickly. The music is fine and there is a projection TV to catch ESPN.
And… that's about it. Drinks were priced about where we expected and they had a decent selection of beers. It's close to the office, so we might return in the future.
3.5 stars – not bad for a brunch with unlimited mimosas or bloody marys or whatever for a group. There were 5 of us and we met around 11:30am on a Sunday. The restaurant at the time was not busy, which was nice. Our hostess was OK and overall, we just enjoyed having a place where it wasn't crazy busy and we could hear each other talk. I ordered pancakes with berries – not really worth $29, but people come here for the unlimited drinks for 2 hours. This is a good place for groups, we saw a large group of 8 or so and a few other groups here and there. The decor is interesting/contemporary.
