  1. There is a lot of love about this place.  Sexy and intimate!  Perfect for dates, birthday party, engagement event?  Yes, it is great for that.  It is Glaat Kosher, and it has veggie options most of all!  Love the ambience.

More splendidly, it felt like a Manhattan restaurant in Queens without the schlep.  From the yummy margarita to the hexagonal stone wine cellar, the interior designers went for simple yet elegant.  Classy and chic.

Ordered the pelmeni, the borscht, the lamb & chicken kabab.  All of it was fantastic!  The flavor was phenomenal and extraordinary.  Delicious!  And plated nicely and well thought out presentation. I would totally come back to try an entree.  Hint: Yelp has a free wine if you check in and get this.

The waitress was amazing and super attentive to us.  Very humble and helpful.  She made it easy for us to agonize over the many options.  There was a cocktail/wine menu and also beers available.  I do not have to be convinced or persuaded to revisit.  I will absolutely come back!  🙂

  2. Great kosher food. I loved the bread (forgot the name, but recommend) I got the Cornish hen, which I highly recommend. Also- the meat pie was delicious. I was really interested in those dumplings but I didn't try them- they look awesome !!! Also the decor was very modern with good ambient music playing!

  3. I had my daughter's first birthday party here last night and I couldn't be happier. Staff was wonderful so friendly helpful. We were always looked after and taken are of. The food was delicious! Marani sampler something new &delicious goes great with their bread. Potatoes and mushroom were good. Chicken tabaka was amazing crispy on outside and juicy on inside. Kebobs were tasty and excellent portions. And their Napoleon is amazing, such a nice rich flavor.

I heard great thing about their chachpuri, libio and soups. I am definitely going to come back with my husband for date nights or family occasions. This place is well worth it. Go and enjoy!

  4. Really really excellent food here. Initially I thought it was similar to Cheburechnaya (which was my go to for kosher central asian food in the neighborhood). Had an opportunity to try yesterday and i totally assumed wrong. Marani was better in every regard, food (less salty), service (wait staff is super friendly and spoke english), decor and the enclosed kitchen was a plus. Needless to say, Marani gonna be the new spot.

Started out with the large Georgian salad. Ended up ordering two, that's how delicious and versatile it is. Functions as a salad and as a fresh side to pair with the savory kebabs later.

Also had the meat pie. A hint of floral herbs in the pie, avoid if that turns you off. Personally loved it, especially the pie section towards the end. No meat there, so the flaky texture of the pie crust really stands out.

Kebabs are normal kebabs, just seasoned perfectly. Not overly salty and dinner becomes a water grab at the end. Prefer the lamb and lamb chops (jucier) over the lamb/beef mix (dryer). Kebabs are served with onions as usual. Always a welcomed side but always too scant. This is where the extra salad comes into play.

Dumplings are ok, meat is too over cooked imo, but again seasoned well and great with hot sauce.

My favorite dish of the night may be the mushrooms over pan fried potato slices. They throw in a healthy dose of garlic too. Super savory and just a hint of crunch to the potatoes to pair with the soft mushrooms. This dish will be a staple every time I come.

Dessert was downstairs, savory not sweet. Really cute set up downstairs where breads are made. Ordered the bread with butter, cheese and egg. Stirring up the mixture by yourselves is really ingenious. Adds a diy/fun element to the dinner. Marani informed us that takeout is available for the bread.

  5. Superb food. Family style. A little pricer than what I am used to but you are paying for quality and quantity.  I came here with my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday today on a whim and good reviews from yelp. We were all very pleased.

Between the three of us, we started off with the sampler to share. We ordered eggplant, spinach and chicken salad as part of the sampler. Bread is ordered separately. Bread is big, doughy and delicious. The spreads were excellently seasoned and insatiable.

For our maim course, my mother and I shared one kebab, and a chicken dish in tomato and walnut sauce and my dad ordered the beans stew. Everything was delicious and filling.

Staff was friendly and atmosphere was pleasant and loungy.

When you check in on yelp, you get a free glass of wine with an entree, I ordered the red semi-sweet which they honored effortlessly.

I hope to come back and try the pies or dumplings which also came highly recommended.

  6. Oh… my… gawd…

Adjaruli xachapuri, a glorious mixture of bread, cheese, egg and butter and who knows what else shaped into a little boat holding the ingredients. Mixed at the table which semi cooks the eggs and mixes with the cheese… it's a spectacular treat like few things I've ever dined on. Pictures can't do this 14-16" "boat" of goodness. Accompanied by a heaping salad of cucumbers, red onion, tomato and parsley in a crisp dressing and you have the recipe for a happy stomach.

Just one of the reasons Queens is the finest food destination in the country for my money. Oh, and you go to the basement for this one. Accompanied by several bottles of Georgian "lemonade" that contains Tarragon. Brilliant.

    Must… return.

  7. Kebabs or kebabs.  Marani has one of the tastiest meat on a stick I've ever tried.  Chicken breast, chicken thigh, lamb, and salmon were cooked and seasoned perfectly.  All the meat were moist!  I love salmon and would recommend it to any salmon lover.  The Georgian salad was also delicious and as it is mentioned in the menu, it does go well with the kebabs.  Otherwise, the rice was a good side dish.

Marani makes their acharuli khachapuri downstairs.  A very nice lady made the bread right in front of us.  It comes fresh out of the oven.  4/5 stars.  Cheese and egg in the middle.  Very filling for two people.

Marani has a very hip and intimate atmosphere.  When I parked in the street, I thought I was in the wrong neighborhood.  I am very glad I found this place from Yelp.  Will have to come here again when I visit New York.

  8. I've only had Marani's khachipuri several times at catered events but let me tell you…they are good. All varieties! I know it's a relatively new restaurant and it happens to be the only kosher Georgian place in New York, and maybe the US, but so far they've really got their you-know-what together.

One of my experiences with them was when they catered an event for my job. They were extremely accommodating and we continue to be their customers. Solid restaurant, in the perfect location for those who can truly appreciate Georgian goodness.
