We made reservations for brunch on a Sunday. We originally made them for 11 am through Groupon, but the emailed us back and asked us to move it to 12. That wasn't a problem for us, especially since we ran late anyway.
It was a bit hard to find the place, and we drove up and down the block several times before we decided to go it afoot. It didn't help that the restaurant's awnings don't match the name of the actual restaurant. Either way, the restaurant was pretty empty, so we were glad that our reservation wasn't that important, since we were about 15-20 minutes late.
I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict. It was rather delicious, except for the bit of crab shell still in the crab cake. But you know what, it was real crab, and can't complain about that. We also sat by the windows, and despite it being a balmy and overcast day, it was a lovely view of the sound. We were there for a good two hours, service was slow but it wasn't bad, we were in no rush. The pre fix menu was great.
Marco's waterfront grill for Sunday brunch was a very pleasing dining experience. When we walked in we were greeted by a very pleasant and amicable young staff. We came with our crew of five and once seated were promptly given our menus and glasses of water.
My wife had purchased a Groupon and our server explained what the Groupon entitles us to have for brunch. After we placed our drink orders and perused the menu we were pleased with the food options offered, it offered a little bit of everything that even the most fussy person should find something to their liking.
Our drinks arrived and our bloody mary and Italian coffee were refreshing and delicious.
We ordered the following brunch items :
* Cheeseburger and fries – Cooked medium and my son knows a good burger and he gave it two thumbs up.
* Steak and eggs over easy with French fries – The steak was cooked medium and was flavorful and not over seasoned with salt and pepper. It's always easier to sprinkle more salt and pepper than taking it off.
* Classic and crabcake eggs benedict – Perfectly poached eggs smothered in a delicious hollandaise sauce that was savory, creamy, eggy and overall satisfyingly good.
* Lobster and eggs – scrambled eggs and lobster meat on a crossiant – Plenty of lobster meat and eggs filled that croissant.
* The sides of sausage patties and bacon were OK and did the trick.
Marco's doesn't skimp on portions here. There is more than plenty of food on your plate and it's plenty delicious too.
Brunch Service was Awesome – Our server Brandon was fantastic! All the way from greeting, ordering and reconciling the bill. It's quite refreshing to see young people like Brandon who take there employ seriously. Kudos to the Marco management team and of course Brandon's Awesome family who brought him up the right way.
The other staff were just as super Awesome as I observed them serve the other customers.
Overall a Great place for brunch with beautiful water views of Long Island and outdoor dining with weather permitting. They also posted that they have live music on Friday nights which is a bonus.
Marco's is now one of my go to spots when dining by the water.
