Maria's is definitely THE neighborhood bodega. Yes, there are a bunch around but Maria and Jose (and co.) have been around a long while and have a decent mix of just about anything you will need. Mexican bread? Yes. Cold cuts? Yes. Beer? Yes. Chair Rental? Yes.
Okay, so their beer selection is a bit limited and they haven't been able to get a hold of a lottery permit yet… but that's okay.
