I came here hoping to satisfy my cupcake craving. I walked in a little past 7 and they were luckily still open. Score! But no score, they only make cupcakes to order! I thought cupcakes were a staple of bakeries? I guess not. So I proceeded to look for another dessert that could curb my sweet tooth. I decided on the strawberry cheesecake (the employee said it is the most popular cheesecake) and I got the chocolate mousse (why not get 2?). While paying, who I think was the owner, came out of the back, very friendly and just handed us a bag of two eclairs and a cream puff!
I was over the moon! I love good business people, and he has proven himself to be one. Way to make a customer feel special!
Back to the desserts, the cheesecake is pretty good. Not the best, not the worst. There is nothing amazing about it. I was not a fan of the chocolate mousse cake. The cake itself seemed a little dry.
It would be nice if they had a few tables so you could sit and enjoy coffee and a dessert or maybe do some work. But otherwise a nice bakery with a great owner. Parking is not a problem, they have a huge lot but parking does seem kind of haphazard. Its on the corner of an intersection.
Overall, because of the kind gesture and nice employee, my visit was that much better. I honestly did not love my cake selections but that may be just those two choices. I may go back and try the tiramasu.
Their cannoli cream may be authentically made from sheep's milk ricotta imported from Italy but it is overly sweet!
Canoli Cake is out of this world!!
Walking into this bakery it smells phenominal just in the parking lot alone!!
Very clean and nice inside.
Very attemped to see how the lines will be during the holidays to pick up some goodies.
Definately not a spot to miss!
Bakery / Cafe.
Marzullo's is hard to miss as it is tucked away in a small strip mall with a tiny parking strip in front.
They have all of your bakery goodies and serve breakfast as well as cafe type items. The walls are covered alternately with scenes of Italy and a few hundred pictures of celebrities- someone in there is a autograph hound.
The bakery items are very good and the prices are actually a bit cheaper than the competition- it is getting rough when a damn cake can run you like $25 – at least at Marzullo's you can still get them for under $20 and they are just as good.
A wide selection of cakes / cookies / breads.
Tiny parking strip in front.
What do you get when you put La in a room full of tasty cakes and pastries, some of which contained Nutella – chaos and an empty wallet. The nutella cake is like crack and they have one of the best napoleon pastries in the area. Gary has had the canoli and he loves it. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. My only complaint – the cost – 20 bucks for a cake is a bit steep in my book, but so worth it. Oh yeah, and they don't have plain vanilla cake with buttercream frosting -what's up with that. Regardless, this place is awesome and so bad for anyone on a diet.
If someone told me to close my eyes and tell me where is your favorite bakery where the smells remind you of your childhood? I'd have to say Marzullos Bakery and I didn't grow up in New Hyde Park!
I used to work about a mile away and come here for coffee. Then it turned into coffee and a biscotti. Then it turned into bringing home pounds of italian cookies home on weekends. If I'm driving upstate or into NYC, I'll always swing by for a pound of cookies. And they are out of this world, I'm not finding a bakery like this where I live in Eastern Long Island or NYC…
Simply put, the best bakery for Italian cookies, biscotti and breads
I usually avoid rainbow cookies because they can be so bad. But my friend brought me to Marzullo because her Italian husband vouches for their rainbow cookies, and they were delicious! I liked the raspberry ones. All the other cookies I picked up, especially the pignoli, were also quite popular.
Decent bakery, almost every one of my Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations for the past few years have involved their cannoli's.
Tiramisu cream puffs and Napoleons are the best of the small treats, and the butter cookies are decent.
Never had a cake from here, but I'd like to try the one thats made of all Rainbow cookie.
