As soon as we walked in on a Saturday night, we were greeted by the friendliest hostess who gestured toward the table. If it weren't for her and our famished appetites, I would have turned right back around because my olfactory senses were immediately assaulted with a smell that can only be described as a bad hotel – musky, muddy, and stale. If that weren't bad enough, the walls have been splashed over with a sicky shade of green that strangely reminded me of the last time I got food poisoning (it was the color I imagined my face to be).
Those serious qualms about the ambiance aside, the service was quick and the food came quickly. Watching televised sitcoms on wall mounted televisions certainly made the time fly. I ordered a veggie burger deluxe that came with a small mountain of fries (which were hot, crispy, and perfectly fried) that made this carb queen quite happy. The boyfriend ordered a chicken fajita wrap that he seemed to enjoy just fine, though when it first came to the table, he initially remarked on how small it seemed.
The warm and quick service are definitely a plus here – they are a strong redeeming part of this otherwise quaint diner. The hostess was one of the nicest people I've been greeted by at a restaurant and our server came by a few times (though not too many to be a meal irritant) to check on us and to see if we needed anything else. Servings are generous and prices are pretty middle of the road if you're getting standard diner food. Come if you're hungry, look elsewhere if you're looking for finer fare.
