Friday evening brought our party of 4 to Roslyn and Matteo's…We valet parked and went straight to the bar where they had Happy Hour until 8pm. Mike our Mixologist took good care of us and prepared appetizing GG Martini's with Bleu Cheese stuffed olives which were marvelous! The ladies had wine and a Tequila Kamakaze…both of which were great. He uses a shaker and theres overrun in it so he filled our glasses when we had imbibed a bit…nice touch!
We love the interior of the restaurant which was redone some years ago and its NY comfortable making it a nice place to drink and eat.
At 8pm, the time of our dinner rezzy, Mike the manager brought us to our table and introduced us to our server Eric who took over our service at that point. He took care of our every need and was always close by….
They have a wonderful menu and it makes decisions difficult.
For appys we ordered both Zuppa di Mussels in red sauce and a wonderful Stuffed Artichoke…both delicious and enjoyed by all.
For mains we ordered:
Nonna's Ragu Family – a wonderful dish of sausage, meatballs and other delightful things under a zesty red sauce. couldnt finish it!
Veal Parm Family portion- Looked good tasted better…tender white veal covered with cheese and red sauce.
Spaghetti in white clam sauce- Very garlicky and delicious…went well with the other dishes.
For dessert we did a Tartufo cut into quarters….very good.
This place is a keeper and a particularily good place to hang for Happy Hour!!!
Ok, it's true. New York food IS better.
Pure perfection
Full Flavors
Now how can I move in here?
PS. Beautiful Italian woman everywhere
We walked in a bit early than our reservation and were offered the very worst table in an otherwise empty place -right in the middle of the room next to a large group. Strange especially since my open table reservation requested a usual booth or table against the wall. And plenty were available. So I spoke up.
They sprung into action and accommodated us in the back in a cozy area – just right.
Our Italo American waiter was great and very attentive. When I started to speak Italian they really turned on the charm.
Open to all my quirky requests and really accommodating to vegans.
Family style eatery with plenty of regulars and a bustling energy of happy earring.
Modern classic decor for tasteful dining.
We will be back to this long time Long Island Italian eatery.
I came here for a rehearsal dinner and there was a set menu so I can cannot comment on their regular service but our dinner was great.
We had a long table in the back for 20 of us. Everything was served family style. The servers came around to every person with a little of each dish so you didn't have to rush to grab it (only if you wanted second servings).
Some of the highlights were the fried calamari, baked clams and the chopped salad.
Servers were extremely attentive.
