  1. Why is always so difficult finding an authentic Indian place when you are Indian? The struggle is real. Took a chance and placed a large order, consisting of: MILD Goat vindaloo, Gobi 65, Vegetable Manchurian, Papad, Raita, Kheer, and Garlic Naan.

1.) Major difficulty placing the order over the phone with  due to language barrier. Sure, there is an online ordering system but I wanted to confirm my order with a live person to prevent mistakes.

2.)Delivery was fast and nothing was missing(always a plus). Points for that. However….

3.) After clarifying and confirming order details overall 3 times, the Goat Vindaloo was the highest level of spicy and I know my levels of heat. As another customer said who experienced a similar issue, this provided to be an extreme waste of money as it was pricey and went straight to the trash. I'm physically not capable of eating beyond mild to maybe medium and  end up getting sick. Bummer.

4.) Gobi 65 was alright. Vegetable Manchurian was a joke of "veggies" as it was batter soaked in badly spiced gravy. Even the garlic naan, which is basic was simply OK. Raita was watered down yogurt with carrot shredrings which is NOT what is should be. Kheer was good but not the best.

There's an Indian restaurant right next door which I'll give a shot and hope to pleasantly surprised. Otherwise I'll be sticking to Oak Tree Road in Edison which never disappoints and is still the best.

  2. We walked in at 6:30 on a Saturday night to this BYOB restaurant.  We were greeted and seated right away.  Service was very attentive, and the waiter made sure to suggest some items for our table.

We got the Gobi 65 and Gobi Manchurian, which is cauliflower bites sautéed in delicious sauces. Unbelievably good!

The husband had the goat curry.  He now admits goat is not lamb, (a long story) and he said his meal was OK.  He normally orders lamb vindaloo but as the goat curry was a signature dish he opted for that.  He liked the taste and flavor but was thrown off by the meat still being on the bone.  The bone was hard to remove and he found himself doing that awkward "removal-of-something-from-his-mouth-without-drawing-attention" move a few times.

I had a vegetarian dish that came out sizzling like fajitas and absolutely loved it! It was the menu item Melange of Sautéed Veggies in Indian Spices. Spicy and delicious! It was enough food for me to pack up two thirds and have 2 more meals at home. The Naan breads were ok.. a little too doughy if I was being picky.

Had the mango icecream/cottage cheese yogurt ball dessert and it was the perfect end to my meal. Absolutely fantastic!

These guys earn 4 stars for seating a walk in party of six on a Saturday night, providing great service, and quality food.

  3. Solid indian food for reasonable prices.

Although a very basic and common dish, we were craving Tikka Masala and found it to be some of the best around compared to other local north jersey indian restaurants.

Highly recommend the Gobi 65 to start.  Crispy and flavorful.

We also had the tandoori vegetables, which had an incredible flavor from the yogurt marinade.

This restaurant stands out in cleanliness, service, food, and price.

  4. Great Buffett for lunch $11. Would go back . Go at 12:30 when its all fresh. You won't be disappointed . Great service

  5. Wow. I was curious about comparing this to the Chatni which is right next door and the winner is obvious. We were leery of this place as the several times we passed it, it was empty but hey give it a chance right?  We go in and it took about a minute or so for someone to come out and seat us, even then the waiter didn't seem like he was in much of a hurry to tend to us and his demeanor was very flat.

So we order the Gobi 65 appetizer which is like curried cauliflower.  It was good but not much better than other Indian spots I've had it similar ones. For entree I got the Malabar fish curry and had some of the Lamb Korma. The best thing about meal were the curries that the food is dipped in. Terrific. The meat however was not tender whatsoever and tough to chew. Also this is one of the specials on the menu, so messing up on this is not a good look. The rice comes in smaller than I'm used to bowls and thus runs out quicker. Sure you can get more free but that involves waiting for the wait staff who got lost a number of times. The waiter was nice overall and he did seem kinda down when we let him know the food wasn't up to par but those are the breaks. i understand sometimes food isn't gonna be a hit but this was way off the mark and paying $50 for a meals and appetizer it better be damn good and it wasn't. Very dissapointed.

  6. Came here craving because of a craving for Indian food. I've tried the other places in the area out, so I figured I give this place a shot.

It was more a spur of the moment decision, so I didn't do much research. I didn't realize they did, in fact, offer a lunch buffet. Unfortunately, we arrived towards the end of the buffet. They had left the burners off so the food was a bit cold. Also, the aloo was very dry – left out for a couple hours dry. It's best to come early.

The buffet is a good deal compared to the regular menu if you just want to fill yourself up. All you can eat selection of 6 curries, either chicken or vegetable. They also offer chicken wings. Nothing really stuck out as being really good, especially the dahl and other vegetable curries. All were a tad on the bland side.

As for the positives, they offer a check-in bonus – a free mango lassi. Very sweet and very thick. However, I couldn't stop drinking it.

Also, the place seems really clean and well appointed.

  7. Came in the restaurant during lunch time. It was a very nice and relaxing ambiance, till my toddler started screaming for my phone to watch her YouTube.
The waiter was very patient, kind and friendly. I thought I'd be kicked out with the amount of noise my toddler made, but the waiter was very accommodating.
Onto the food, it was the lunch buffet. There was a modest amount of selection. I was able to enjoy the chicken Tikka masala, vegetables curry, the lentil was delicious and the Naan came out fresh. I tried to give my toddler the lentil soup, but it was a bit spicy for her. But after I mixed it with rice, she enjoyed it. What we enjoyed the most was the fresh plain Naan and garlic Naan that came out of the kitchen. Unlimited Naan is awesome. If I came alone I would have taken advantage if that unlimited Naan. There was dessert, but I couldn't make it cause my toddler at this point wanted to run loose outside.
The bathroom is clean, the waiters pays attention  to details and constantly refreshing glass n asking if we needed anything.
I am going to return here, but next time with my husband n make it a family trip.

  8. Friday evening we ordered some food to be delivered. Super excited because I haven't had Indian food in a while. I absolutely loved Everything! I ordered the vegetable briyani which was rice mixed with different kind of vegetables (onions, zucchini, broccoli, sweet peppers etc.). I had the option to pick the spice level. I love spicy food but I went with mild to play it safe. Boy was I glad I did. It was perfect and little more spicy that I thought it would be. We also got the vegetable somosa which is mixed with potatoes and veggies. The spices used was so good. And of course we had to get some garlic nan. Yum!
