Friendly and helpful staff. I picked up a few pastries today. So far all have been delicious, decent value too!
A little bit like walking back in time and the place has a real 70's vibe to it. The place is very clean and product is good. Not sure they deserve all the negative reviews.
I remember years ago when I moved to Jersey and seeing the Ads on TV for Mazur's Bakery. It had almost a 100 year tradition and run by the same family. I would drive the 8 miles from Hackensack instead of going to the local bakeries because they had a large selection of fresh cakes, pastries, and cookies including Rainbow Cake cookies. They also had big display of custom made cakes and wedding cakes all the time. But then the last few years I saw the quality and selection diminish and so I stop going to Mazur's and went local.
I then read in the paper that the original owner had sold the business and the Mazur's name to new owners, but they were force to closed Mazur's because they had real bad health-code violations that included rodents and food debris on equipment. I guess this is what happens when the grand kids pimp the family business instead of running it.
But then after two years I saw Mazur's reopen under new management and after 6 months I decided to drop by, and found they were trying to fix the place up but the selections were thin and far in between. I got a some cup cakes since my BFF wanted some. But when I got home and touch them they were as hard as a rock after one bite I threw them all away and went to Shop Rite to get some fresh ones for my BFF.
A version of this bakery has been around for more than 50 years. Cookies and baked goods are ok. Staff is friendly and helpful. But I remember this bakery from years ago, when it was packed with shelves overflowing with sweet treats. It's a very quiet, low-key operation now.
