I don't usually write reviews for mcdonals because it's mcdonals!!! but this place got some horrible management and staff so I have to make a few comments. The food was typical, nothing to write about there, however the service is just horrible here. The employees here and managers included does not care about customer service at all, they will stand right in front of customers and talk and talk and talk and not take your order until they are done talking! The line is always very long and it takes forever to get your food here.
This mcdonalds is always so busy. But that means the food is fresher so i dont mind. I also feel like its a little more expensive then other locations. But now they bring your food to your table. They also have the machines for you to place your own order.
I once ordered a hamburger from here and was given two buns….and that was it. They left out the meat! It was both infuriating and hilarious.
I haven't been to a McDonalds in a few years… A couple of months ago, L wanted to try Apple Pay and I had a coupon, so I was more willing to approve his silly request. We rarely eat fast food, a couple of times a year and only if there's a coupon.
The wait wasn't too long and they got the order right, they just switched the boxes. $6 a burger is expensive for low-end fast food. For that price I'd rather get a burger from a restaurant, at least that comes with fries. M. T's regular burger is only $19. In comparison, it's almost worth the extra $13.
Anyway, the burgers weren't as bad as we recalled or perhaps the standards at the Jackson heights location are pretty bad. I ate half a burger, I think it was a Bacon Habanero Burger. L also ordered a Quarter Pounder with cheese. The cheese was actually not as disgusting as before. I remember once I actually had to remove the cheese and put my own. Regardless even though the food was slightly better, I still would never eat at any fast food chain regularly. (Regularly as in more than 4x a year.) Also L did get sick a few hours later.
Im not really sure I like this newly remodeled McDonalds. It was much better 30 years ago when they had a playground outside and kids were actually able to run and play.
i've really been trying to stay away from fast food and chain restaurants. Living in NY we have the finest restaurants and street carts you could ask for, so why support a chain? Yesterday my fiancee, daughter & myself had an early breakfast and were going to have an early dinner, so we decided to stop by McDs for a small bite mid-way through the day. i ordered a McDouble, this is the first time in my life that i've been to McDs and found a burger patty under-cooked, one of the patties only slightly bigger than a silver dollar was actually pink in the middle. Not to mention this place seemed grimy, the staff seemed, not rude but lacking experience. i think going fwd i'll stay away from this McDs though.
Parking lot and Drive-Thru – Check
Modern-Check
Clean-8/9, I see the cleaning person there mopping right in front of people eating and there was no spill or urgent need to. And there's a guy in security uniform from a private security company, can't really tell if he works there, washing his hands at the soda dispenser-FAIL
Yeah free refills on soda but after witnessing what I said above, no thanks. It's McDonalds…I liked my fries, the onions and pickle combo in my double cheese burger and soda options were right but it's just a hip McDonald's on Queens Blvd.
Yes, fast Fast Food.
Waited 20 min just to get an iced coffee. Employees had the look of "I don't give an eff" on their face. They moved like snails and it was obvious they didn't care as the lines grew longer and longer.
This is why I agree with franchises being upset about wage increases. Why should you pay these lazy people more money for horrible service?
What happened to the smaller menu and better service the new CEO promised? Shake Shack is going to keep taking your market share.
I have mixed feelings of this place, depending when I go. And I almost always prefer takeout if I can help it.
Now, when you go during a certain time of the WEEKDAY, not WEEKEND, it can be quiet, peaceful, even calm. You can snag a nice seat, enjoy your lunch leisurely. But beware when it hits the "after school rush", this place gets bombarded with teens/pre-teens. Not only do they come in droves, but they are the loud obnoxious ones. On more than one occasion I recognized some of the males, and they are rude, borderline offense, in their attempts to impress the girls within their group. But hey, I was young once, whatever, I get it. So, try to avoid the 2-4 period if possible. Weekends are always crowded, as this is a prime location, has a parking lot, and that little indoor play area for the kids. That can also be a cause of a lot of shrieking from little ones.
What I dislike most about this place is the wait/lines. Even when there are only 1-2 people ahead of you, they are so slow. I'm not sure if it's the customers not knowing what to order, some kind of language barriers, or what, but it takes forever. And there are definitely never enough cashiers. Usually 1, but 2 if you're lucky and if the crowd makes enough rumblings. When there are only 1 or 2 cashiers, they are slow. If an order comes with a coffee or ice cream, cashiers have to do that also, and it takes away from knocking that lines of customers down. Other Mcdonald's I've gone to (most notably in NJ) the cashier just handles the register and other people bring the food or drinks or ice creams. It streamlines the process a lot faster.
So when you come here, even for takeout, be prepared to wait awhile.
My orders haven't been messed up here, but I also make a habit of double checking what I get before leaving. Fries sometimes are a little old or overcooked tasting.
Very modern decor, trendy, cute…makes you want to linger. But only under the right circumstances.
