This is a McDonald's. It's like the others. The folks behind the counter were very pleasant, and the food was garbage and I ate it very happily. The soda fountains are some kind of hi-tech touch-screen flavor mix-n-match that offers up what seems like every flavor ever engineered by Coca-Cola in any combination you want. If you traveled back in time and showed this soda fountain to people, and then showed them an iPhone, I think they'd be more impressed by the soda fountain.
Being completely honest and as kind as possible, this was probably one of the worst run McDonald's restaurants I have ever been to. It was pathetic… Inside it is a brand new interior, so the owner must have spent some money, but the management was pretty bad. First of all, the place was a mess.. The place wasn't busy, but the employees were just standing around and doing nothing… Meanwhile there was trash everywhere.. Crusty food on tables and the ground, bags and cups on almost every table, and the ground was just covered with litter. Second of all the employees were slow and rude, and one was texting while we waited for our order to be taken.. Bad even for a ghetto McDonald's.
The employees here are really, really, really friendly.
A couple weeks ago the woman behind the counter said/asked "you don't like cookies?" I really had no idea what she was talking about, I just ordered a strawberry sundae, but I said "yeah, I like cookies" and she gave me SIX free cookies…
Tonight I was in a sort of drunken sleep-walking haze, I brought only $2.21 but my sandwich (sausage biscuit) cost (I think) $2.26 — but the man behind the counter said "don't worry about it, I'll take care of it for you." So I didn't have to walk home and bring back a nickel, AND he didn't even think about saying "we won't serve you until you pay in full…"
It's open 24-hours, every day — there are some crazies who come here randomly, myself included… It's big, they're always mopping some part of it, there's no annoyingly loud music, it's not too bright or too dim, surprisingly their ice-cream machine is never down (MAJOR POINTS) so I can satiate my "strawberry sundae, extra peanuts please" craving pretty much whenever I want, they don't try to screw you over like other branches of this franchise ("no, we don't have a dollar menu, that'll be $5.99 for your filet-o-fish")…
I have passed this McDonalds many times and on Saturday night around 1am we decided to get a late night snack. Big mistake. We walked in to Latin dance music blasting that McDonalds was playing. Aren't there rules about how chains should be run? Nonetheless, we waited on the line that was about 8 people long. The unfriendly male cashier upsized our nugget meal price to large without asking us, but half filled the fries. He threw his choice of sauce in the bag. The place felt dirty and the workers could care less about the business. This place only has business because it's near the subway otherwise I doubt it would last. I hope the people that oversee McDonalds looks into this location because it's a complete disgrace on every level.
Not gonna lie, the only things I've ever ordered from here are two items (but I've ordered them so much the cashier practically have everything ready for me before I even arrive):
1. Hazelnut iced coffee (sometimes caramel, if they're out of hazelnut) $2.28
2. Yogurt parfait $1.19
Both things jump start my mornings. The cashiers are really nice and VERY fast. I have no desire to go next doors to Starbucks where the same iced coffee would be 2x as pricey and service would be 2x as slow.
The yogurt parfait is also tasty! Perfect when I'm running late to work and don't have time to eat at home.
This place was awful. And I'm even a Micky D lover. I came here after a concert at Lincoln Center and came in. It's large, bright, modern, and they were playing festive Latin music.
From there it went downhill. We tried to order Mcflurries but were told there were none without even an apology. Then when we asked about smoothies the person there was super annoyed and impatient looking.
We finally ordered apple pies and a chocolate smoothie. The chocolate smoothie was definitely not chocolate (see photo) but rather a mix of something. If you can't even get this right….
The apple pies – one was fine, the other package was crushed with some apple pie filling on the outside.
The whole place smelled pretty bad and there were people sleeping in the benched and at tables.
Plenty of seating, has an ATM inside (99cent fee), soda machine is in dining area allowing for multiple refills, and there are plenty of registers to allow for little to no lines … and there's a security guard.
On the other hand, this location is always extremely dirty, from the floors to the seats to the tables … all filthy; and the tables never get cleared. So be prepared to clean your own seating =/.
But McDonald's is McDonald's. I really try to stay away from fast food joints, but from time to time I need to have some of those fries. Oh man, those fries. Other then that, there isn't anything special here. Eh …
Stopped by to use the restroom before leaving the area and getting on the train. I'm glad I was already planning on buying something. The bathroom was blocked and they had a sign making it clear that the restroom was for customers only. I purchased a small drink and was on my way.
They have the cool touch screen drink machines that allow you to choose darn near an infinite number of drink choices when factoring in the fact you can practically invent a new flavor.
