  1. I like sports so naturally I like sports bars.

Came here tonight with two friends for a guys night out.

The place looks brand new to me. Right on 440 across from the Bayonne Bridge.

I had a great time catching up with old friends while enjoying good food, good service from our server Brandon and watching the Ranger game on our own private TV at the table.

After the traditional appetizer of Nachos, we steered clear of traditional Sports Bar food (I.e burgers, wings, etc.). We each ordered something different put it all in the middle of the table and shared. The entrees were, Steak Medallions topped with a red wine reduction served with Parmesan mashed potatoes and green beans, Chicken Teriyaki served with white rice and green beans. The last entree was an order of Saint Louis style Ribs slowed cooked with barbecue sauce and accompanied by french fries and coleslaw.

Even though Football season is pretty much over, I can see myself coming back next season as they have Sunday afternoon and Monday night specials. Or perhaps a weekend brunch with the Mrs.

An upscale Sports Bar?  I like it a lot.

  2. Update:

I went back about a month ago for the brunch, with my husband. We really enjoyed it. The place wasn't crowded and for 20.00 you get a lot of good brunch food and a drink. We were treated well, service was great, and the omlettes were very fresh. The food offerings on the buffet were diverse, without being overdone.

I decided I'd try to surprise my husband for his birthday, so today I had 20 people meet us there. My son took care of getting everyone set up. McLoone's was very accommodating – they gave us room for the 20 of us (16 at the long table, and the 4 pre-teen girls had their own booth, at my request). There was another party of people on the other side, too, and many more brunchers than were there the last time I was there. Still, there was plenty of food, everyone enjoyed it, and I was able to have a great surprise for him with very little effort on my part.

I was told ahead of time that they had a cake-slicing fee, but they didn't charge it. They took care of my husband's birthday cake, brought it out all ablaze, then took it back to cut. Service was good despite the crowd. I think most of our waitresses were named Danielle, I am totally serious. There was definitely more than one.

The husband was happy, our friends and family were happy, and all was good. I can't thank them enough. They even made special eggs for my mother-in-law (she didn't want an omelette and so they fried up eggs the way she wanted) which made her feel great. All in all, a great Sunday brunch.
