Stopped in from shopping on the hottest summer day! The wine was great, the service was great, the food was delicious. And most importantly, the a/c was working!, lol. No complaints here. Enjoyed the thin pizzas and my lobster roll. Of course, there's never enough lobster, but I'm not complaining. I heard the grilled squid was awesome.
We were looking for a nice place for lunch and the presentation here was excellent and so was the food. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. We had the Prince Edward Island Mussels, lobster and corn chowder, lump crabmeat salad with diced avocado, soy beans, ginger vinegar, smoked paprika, gemelli with sweet sausage, carmelized onions, broccoli and red pepper cream, grilled chicken on flatbread with tahini dressing, tasty!
Overall, my dishes were very hit and miss, but the lunch special is a great deal and definitely worth trying.
I rarely comment on drinks because they're so standard, but I asked for an Arnold Palmer and I'm pretty sure what I got was basically just carbonated sweet tea. It was not good and I hardly touched it.
The lunch special comes with a soup/salad and an entree for just over $20. Great deal when you consider the lunch entrees are that price anyway. Unfortunately the chicken soup I asked for amounted to orzo in chicken broth. Hardly any chicken, no flavor at all.
Fortunately, the entree was the best part of my meal. I had the duck and white bean ravioli which was absolutely fantastic. Wonderful flavor from the duck and a bit of pepper on the outside. A couple dollops of hummus and the white beans created this great, smooth texture. Fantastic, highly recommend.
Overall though, I just can't really justify giving it a 4th star despite the great entree when my drink and appetizer were pretty poor.
Mediterraneo is a fancy Italian/seafood restaurant located on the "Avenue" (a signature street in Greenwich with lots of boutiques and shops).
I shared Chilled seasonal oysters, champagne mignonette, cocktail sauce for an appetizer. The oysters weren't as juicy or plump as the ones I had in Boston. Too bad the restaurant was very dim and I couldn't see very well.
I ordered the Grilled organic salmon with butternut squash, broccoli rabe, red wine, quince. As I mentioned before, I order anything and everything that is butternut squash. The salmon was juicy and plump, just the way I like it! I expected an actual butternut squash, not the puree which was a bit too creamy. I loved the broccoli rabe, which seemed to have been grilled.
The Fresh seasonal berries with whipped cream dessert was a bit of a disappoint because there was no cooking involved whatsoever–just a bowl of some strawberries and raspberries with whipped cream and a drizzle of white chocolate syrup. We only had the berries and put the whipped cream on the side. Healthy much? 😉
I enjoyed this restaurant. We had appetizers of oysters and calamari, and then I had the lobster pappardelle, and my husband had an osso bucco gnocchi. The entrees were excellent and very well made. Service was attentive, and I liked the interior of the restaurant. Very nice decor, with an interesting map of the Mediterranean sea on the ceiling. Prices were reasonable for the quality, it was a little over $100 + gratuity for 2 of us, with appetizers, entrees, side, and dessert. Would go back again.
