“While I love most things on the menu, the curried cauliflower soup, the French onion & the crab crepe are my favorites.”
“My go-to order has evolved from a sweet crepe with only strawberrys (as a child) to their delicious Salmon Spring Roll Crepe.”

We stopped by at Meli-Malo for gelato on a Saturday afternoon. The place looked really nice and wasn't very busy. We were immediately asked if we need help and we tried several gelatos. The guy serving us gelato wasn't very friendly, but he wasn't rude either.
We tried blackberry sorbet, mint chocolate, hazelnut and dulce de leche gelatos. All of them tasted well, but we're not the greatest gelatos I ever tried. They seemed to be too frozen and I could feel tiny pieces of ice in it.
The portions were tiny for the price ($4 for one scoop).
I can see that other food can also be good at this place, but we haven't tried it. Maybe next time!
Not a fan since they expanded their space.
Came here with my boyfriend and we each ordered a juice and a crepe. Started drinking my juice and a piece of like blue plastic bag came through the straw. I showed the manager and he said that he'd comp that drink. Then as we continued to eat, my boyfriend found similar plastic in his drink (obviously something wrong in the blenders) AND chunks of clear plastic (like a plastic shattered cup) in his salad. Again, the manager agreed to comp it. Great. But we're still leaving starving, and you haven't then worked to alter our perception of the food….there are too many good places on Greenwich Avenue to come back here.
*** ice cream review ***
Really true, non-artificial flavors. I got the mint, which was so delicious, and my husband got the hazelnut, which tasted like fresh nuts.
Took a while to get someone's attention to scoop the ice cream, which was a little surprising. Nonetheless, it was worth the wait.
I came to Meli-Melo this weekend because of a spur-of-the-moment mini vacation to Greenwich, CT. Since the bf and I arrived early, most of the stores were still closed so we stopped by here for some breakfast.
The decor is very fun and eclectic- almost like a arts and crafts fun-house. It was certainly a nice breather from the high end, almost stuffy neighborhood that it's in.
After a one hour drive from Brooklyn. we were starving so we went a bit crazy. To start, I had the Sunrise juice (Spinach, celery, ginger, apple) and the bf ordered a croissant with nutella. My juice hit the spot- it was exactly what I needed to jump start my day (albeit with a very strong celery taste). The croissant was amazing- buttery, flaky, everything a croissant should be but better when dipped in the delicious Nutella accompaniment.
For my main dish, I had a brie, herbs and ham crepe. I didn't like this to be honest. I really wanted to, but I just didn't. The ham seemed like it came from oscar mayer, and was cut into very random strips and thrown onto the crepe like an afterthought. The brie was nice and creamy, but I was missing the herbs. What herbs? I couldn't see, taste, or smell them, so I was disappointed.
My bf's dish, on the other hand, was great. He ordered a ratatouille and prosciutto omelette with mozzarella. The ratatouille was rustic, with a strong tomato flavor that reminded me of France. Paired with the salty prosciutto, it elevated the omelet to new heights.
We weren't finished there. After eating our entrees, we ordered 3 scoops of sorbet: chocolate, coconut, and pear. These were absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of sorbet, and these were light, flavorful, and not too sweet. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good these were.
We ordered a lot of food, and Meli isn't cheap. If I remember correctly, our bill came out to be almost $60 with tax and tip- a high price for breakfast. But i don't regret it. It was a pleasant experience, forgoing my sad crepe.
I can only write a review based on my quick in & outs here. Either grabbing a smoothie or calling ahead for a lunch take out order and heading straight to work.
I have to be plainly honest in saying that Meli-Melo's Smoothie & Juice menu does look appealing on paper- but I can't say the same for the actual product. My favorite Smoothie cafe just shut down, so I doubtfully resorted to Meli and another location. Smoothies are well blended here, unfortunately, the fruits don't mesh well (for me) and are so dull in taste.
Lunch here is very tasty, nonetheless. But, beware–because you're going to get an insane rush of people which I don't particularly care for nor do I think is lively. Sitting here,is not in my itinerary. On the other hand, service is relatively good.
This is the place to go if you want a casual eatery to experience Greenwich CT. It's a busy place for lunch and you will have to wait for a table. The food is crepes and sandwiches. Don't expect an extensive hot food menu
The sandwiches are good and the crepes are prepared right. I had the Cubano Sandwich. I'm not a huge fan of this type of food, so I normally don't eat it, but it was good and probably healthier for me.
I also had the Fish Provencal soup with garlic cheese crouton. It was fishy tasting, so only order it if you like the taste of strong fish. I like fish, so I liked it.
You can tell that this is an authentic French enterprise. I lived in Brittany, the region in France most famous for crepes, and the crepes made by Meli-Melo are equally delicious! They use the famous buckwheat flour for savory crepes that Brittany is known for. Breakfast here brought me right back to Rennes.
In addition to amazing crepes and delicious fresh fruit smoothies, Meli-Melo has incredible pastries. They are too expensive and rich to eat everyday, but they are perfect for a little treat for yourself after a long week. Their macaroons are one of my favorites. They come in a dozen flavors, each exquisitely light and flavorful.
A few of the other reviews mentioned that they thought Meli-Melo was expensive, but except for the pastries I thought their prices were very reasonable. A butter and sugar crepe is only $3, many menu items were $8-$10 and only the fancier crepes around $15.
Great location in the middle of town. Had brunch with my family (8 people) and we were seated very quickly on a early Sunday morning. Most of the table got rolls, crepes and sandwiches. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their choices. I recommend the crab spring roll, duck spring roll and their avaccado-shrimp crepes. Remember to get a smoothie or a green juice to go along with it. If you have a big appetite do not get their crepes. You might need a little something else.
