  1. Pretentious af. The fancy wooden door caught my eye as I decided to find a place to stop and recharge (my phone that is). I was surprised when I saw the free shot on Yelp, and we had made it in time for happy hour! The food was ridiculously overpriced. $13 for guacamole? I can barely understand why guacamole is even $8!
We wanted to order chips and salsa ($3 happy hour) to go with the free shots, but then we were told that to check in on yelp you have to order something. I have never heard this rule before. I did hear it once at a hookah lounge, but the staff there were very rude and said we didn't purchase enough. So then we each got a beer, there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant so I'm sure they should be glad anyone showed up at all. Nice decor, maybe I'll come back who knows.

  2. *** Decently priced, Friendly staff, Good food ***

Came here with a friend to grab a quick lunch bite. There were lunch special items ranging from $11-12; great portions. I got an appetizer item which was still just as filling ($8). They charge extra for sour cream; it's not a big deal, but I wish they had told me prior. Overall, great environment, comfortable seating, accommodting staff.

  3. After searching for a good Mexican food place in NYC (I'm a Cali girl), I finally found one.  This is a place to treat yourself, since the dishes hover around $20, although there are a few cheaper ones.  But the nice thing is, if you check in on yelp, you get a free tequila shot!  Talk about a great way to start the meal.

I tried the steak fajitas.  They came out sizzling with fresh vegetables cooked the perfect amount (not too soggy) with a very flavorful and tender steak.  I was able to actually bite through the steak, so it wasn't too tough.  The rice and beans it comes with have a surprising amount of flavor!  There wasn't any left over at the end.

I also was lucky to taste some of the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce.  DO NOT miss out on this dish.  The sauce is divine, with nut flavor and all.  Our waiter said there is only one other place in Brooklyn that makes this sauce, since it is difficult and takes a whopping 8 hours to cook properly.  It is worth doling out a little extra money to get one of their entrees with mole sauce.  A very unique flavor experience!

  4. Tisk tisk. First I'll say the food is ok. Mediocre at best. Very Americanized version of Mexican food. Next I will discuss the ownership. We arrived a half hour before the restaurant took it's last seating and wanted to sit in a booth. The only booth available was a 6 top and there were just 3 of us. However, the restaurant was empty and it was clear they would not be getting any more customers. We asked to be seated at the big table (which was in the window – generally you want to put customers in the window so you can at least fake looking popular) and the man seated us. After our water had been poured the poor waiter was forced by the owner to come over and have us move. Napkins already in our laps and everything. I cannot believe an owner would behave this way and not even have the guts to handle it themselves but risk a waiters tips by making them look like the asshole. This is restaurant suicide. Never going back.

  5. Okay, so, I'm in LOVE with this place.

We came on a Saturday night.  We were sat right away and our server gave us a wonderful greeting.

The first thing I'd like to say – BEST. MARGARITA. I'VE. EVER. HAD. IN. MY. ENTIRE. LIFE.

I got myself a delicious steak and my boyfriend got the Salmon al Horno.  I tried his Salmon and it was sooo good.  My steak was slightly overcooked, BUT, my server noticed before I could even say anything and swapped it out for me immediately.  And, I got a brand new steak – delish!

The service was excellent.  It is most definitely a place I am looking to get myself back to and soon!

    Enjoy!

  6. My company ordered from this place for our lunch. The food was off the chain!!! The Flautitas de papa tasted magical! With the salsa and mexican crema, I ate like 3 of them! And we had fajitas with chicken and pepper, amazing! The beef option is good too. We had yellow rice on the side.
I will go visit this place one day. Can't wait to have the same food again!

  7. This is the second time I've been here for lunch and loved it both times. There is a chance that I got the same thing (enchiladas and flautas) both times so I can't really speak of anything else on the menu. The prices are reasonable and the food is authentic. I would be happy coming here anytime I was in the area.

  8. I liked Mexico Lindo! On a rainy Friday night this was a great place to duck into for a quick meal and a few drinks while catching up with an old friend. Service from start to finish was attentive and fast, maybe even a little too attentive…at first I had to ask for a minute to get myself together after the rain had me all sorts of dishevled. Still, I appreciated the frequent check ins and honest feedback on the menu. The guacamole was delicious, and I am a tough critic when it comes to guac. I'll reason it at the table if I'm not satisified. Life is too short to eat bad guacamole! That said, this guac was tasty and good portion for sharing as a starter. I do agree it was over priced but I was also really really hungry and not caring about that in the moment. The enchiladas suizas were really great. the chicken was wel seasoned and I love when the hot sauce is on the side so you can build your adventure as you eat. I for one, can not hand when it comes to spice (see my past reviews). Sometimes I'm in the mood to be brave, most times I'm not, and I like when the hot sauce comes on the side and appeases my control freak side. Finally, the drinks made my night. The Kick @** Mojito lives up to its name, two of those and I was feeling warm and fuzzy enough to venture back into the rain with a smile. My friend had the margarita and was throwing them back without a complaint. Overall, it was a nice place for dinner and conversation. Agreed the prices were a bit high, but for decent reliable food and drink on a rainy night, I wasn't exactly running away. And with fun, attentive servcice at least I felt like I got what I was paying for.
