  1. I have been here a few times now and definitely will keep going back.  Love the fact there are Italians running the Italian restaurant.  Food is really good and very plentiful.  The place is very tight so I strongly suggest reservations.
The only thing I don't like is not being able to pay a few bucks more for vodka sauce with side of pasta.  But, I can definitely get over it if it means good food.

  2. I love Michael Angelo's!! Seriously my new favorite pizza. The pie is the perfect amount of crispy and seasoned. Tomato sauce tastes fresh and every combination of toppings I've tasted so far are seasoned perfectly. My favorite is mushrooms & onions. Whether ordered out or dining in, the pizza tastes great either way.

The best appetizer in my opinion has to be the Shrimp Beeps. Really spicy, but oh so good! The shrimp are large, so it's definitely worth the buy. Maybe one day I'll try something new, but I'm always craving pizza & Shrimp Beeps when I'm there.

Love the fact that it's also BYOB, but if you're planning on going on a weekend, definitely make a reservation. There's never walk-in availability since it's pretty small and so popular!

  3. OK Where to begin… Its the 5 Stars of BYOB joints as simple as that lets not compare it with the ambiance and decor of other places.  … Small 1 room layout that is packed all the time tables are close to each other but not on top of you either.  For those of you who know Michael from his previous restaurant in Newark than you know going in you are getting something special.  All ingredients are fresh and you can see directly into the kitchen the place is clean.   Already stated BYOB so bring your best beverage wine etc and settle in for a treat.  Since I've eaten here several times since he opened here are the don't miss items.

    Appetizers:
Old Stable Mozerrella in Carozza Sauce choice of Red "SPICY" or Spidini.. both sauces accentuate the evenly fried fresh mozerzella  in short you can never go wrong with this dish.

Homemade Shrimp Balls with Spicy marinara like nothing I ever had before.  Normally they are a mushy thing stuffed with rice and shrimp pieces. Instead you received giant meatballs deep fried with bay shrimp inside.  Inside blend of meats and spices were SPICY but with the dipping sauce this was off the dam charts.

Traditional square tomatoe pie  is quite large and we hadthe basic pie and it was excellent.. Hot fresh crust even and toasty all around Yum.

Hot Peppers potatoes & Sausage.. Get the bread and water ready these puppies are HOT… long fried over a platter of way too much food thank god for to go bags ….

Many more items on the appetizer list to choose from and his specials are always good.

    Entrees:
Veal Michael Angelo is his version of a Saltamboca.  I still miss his rolled version from Newark but this one is great too.

Chicken Savoy heavy in vinegar and spice if this is your type of dish you don't go wrong here.

Don't miss out on the GIAMBOTTA  choice of Steak, Sausage / Chicken or combo with peppers, onions, potatos, is a meal most definitely split.

Folks simply stated Don't miss out on an old stable of good service, great food, and quality ingredients WINNER WINNER!

  4. We went to Michael Angelos after work one night.  It was based in my fellow YELPERS feedback.   So thank you for leading me to a great experience.

So this is a little mom n pop restaurant in Fairfield that has great Italian food.  We started with the meatballs and sausage as an appetizer.  They both were done really well.

Moved onto the main course.  I had the Chicken Parm (see pic) and my coworker had Sunday Gravy.   The food was really good.  The only thing that I wish I knew (or paid more attention to on reviews) was that it is BYOB.

Great food, great atmosphere.  Will repeat when i am in town for business.

  5. Thursday night with Marissa for some macaroni. There are maybe 3 other tables with patrons so we are seated right away. Server brings menus and busboy brings water. We decided on a calamari with a soy teriyaki glaze for an app. Fantastic flavor and very unique. For entrées Marissa has chicken cutlet parmigiana and I had macaroni with Sunday gravy. The chicken was tender and the sauce spot on. My macaroni was excellent as well. The included meats were tender and full of flavor. Here is my gripe. Service was completely subpar. Our server was no where to be found most of the night. She stopped at our table once. 2 times that we needed something we asked the busboy. During the meal I looked over to the corner of the room where the servers congregate and a counter is located with supplies to notice the 2 servers and the busboy standing there all on there phones at once. This happened thru-out the night. Totally unacceptable. Our server disappeared for like ever and the end of the meal and it literally took 15 minutes to get our check. We were definitely not in a rush at all but the place is small and only 3 tables occupied–where the heck did she go. Upon leaving and walking to the car we figured out where she was all night. Outside in the back smoking a cigarette. Come on. I guess when the cats away–owner– the mice will play. Great food and usually great service but not tonight.

  6. Amazing old school italian restaurant originally from Newark, Michael Angelo ' s doesn't disappoint. Definitely make a reservation to assure that you get a table, although we did see a couple walk in without reservations. This was our second visit and every bite was just as good as the first. Located at the comfort inn, this byob is easy to miss, but don't drive by without a try.

To start, they have a spectacular antipasto dish with cheese from parma, prosciutto, salami, olives, sundried tomatoes and bruschetta. We also again got their long hots with sausage and potatoes. Yum! Last time, we tried their beeps, which are shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. ..I ate a bunch of their crusty bread finishing every drop last time.

For entrées, I ordered the shrimp with the beep sauce over linguini  (think it was the diavolo, but not sure so ask) because I just love the gravy. The bf ordered the sausage giambiotta, which yes was a repeat of our appy. Our friends loved their pasta with sausage and broccoli Rabe and the bracciole over cavatelli. Last time, our entrées included their famous chicken savoy and spaghetti with Sunday gravy. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!

Don't pass on dessert. We loved the cannoli and the chocolate chip pie Ala mode.

We honestly can't wait to return! !! Still dreaming about their great food and hurried good service. This is an awesome place to relax and catch up with old friends.
