  1. If you're looking for an Italian fix, but don't want to have a sit down meal or cook it yourself, Milano is the place to go. From the premade eggplant parm to the spinach and cheese rice balls, most of their premade meals are delicious. They have everything from pasta salads to vegetables to chicken, fish, etc. The premade sauce is also really tasty. I'm extremely picky about red sauce, but I've gotten it from Milano's multiple times just to put over some pasta. Speaking of pasta, they sell homemade pasta. I've only gotten the spinach fettuccine, and was surprised that it had a bit of a plastic-y taste to it, but maybe I got a bad batch…

  2. Their sandwiches are so incredible and affordable, especially for the Upper East Side. Get the Milano Special and/or the Milano Supremo and you will not be disappointed. At $9.75, you're getting a huge hero sandwich with generous fillings that will satisfy all your cured meat cravings and fill you up all day. If you're not feeling those two sandwiches, don't worry because they have so many other options for you to choose from — I recommend grabbing a paper menu or looking at it online beforehand because there are just that many choices, from classics to unique creations. Their meats and cheeses are high quality and their breads are baked fresh, too. There's always a long line during lunch hours, but it moves pretty quickly and the staff is super friendly. Grab a sandwich here and eat it at Central Park nearby! I would definitely love to come back soon.

  3. Want a delicious Italian sub ? Come here

The sandwich was packed with meat and cheese and what is even better is you can customize it to your liking. I ordered it on focaccia bread. The minimum was $15 for delivery so i got a 1/4 lb of penne vodka and that was pretty good as well.

Since i was impressed with the penne vodka I went back last Sunday but they didnt have it so  i guess it depends on the day what prepared food they have. There was a decent line on a Sunday but it seemed to move quick.

The food seems fresh and definitely worth a try if your on the upper east side

  4. We stumbled in after an awkward afternoon at the Guggenheim and were really craving good sandwiches to eat in the park. Milano was perfect for our pallets, and had a wide array of fine sandwiches to offer.

The only pitfall here was they were not used to 5 people ordering something at the same time, and could not handle the checkout process. They couldn't comprehend how we could pay the cashier before the deli staff gave us our sandwiches…. But, you're wasting time! Let's pay now, this is what I got!

  5. Great place for hearty Italian specialty sandwiches.  Not cheap at ~ $10.50  but big enough for 2.  My personal favorite (well the only one I've tried) is the soppresata, #20- hot soppresata, thinly sliced, with asiago cheese (yum), roasted red peppers, and a broccoli rabe.  On a whole wheat roll.. major delish. You can get it wherever breads you like.

Other sandwiches I hear are good are the ham and brie, and maybe the caprese..except that is a bit dry.   The hot bar is also great- bf and I split tried the bow tie pasta with pesto, which was creamy and cheesy.   They have other good looking items from anti pasto, stuffed artichokes, to good looking porchetta. I'd call this the DiPaulos, Raffetos of the UES.. and the sandwiches sort like the DiFonte's of BK you see in Grammercy.  Yum.

As far the service, it's a bit frazzled as things move fast and servers get a little snapped and confused but all in all, a good experience and I'd definitely return..and I'm not even into sandwiches that much!

  6. Their sandwiches are AMAZING. They are huge, stuffed full of whatever ingredients you choose, they will not cheat you on that.

I like the Market a lot. Great selection of hot and cold sanwiches, lots of varieties of sides (pasta salads, egg salad, mashed potatoes, veggie salads, etc.) All sorts of stuff. They are quick with service and everything just seems so fresh and flavorful.

If you want to do your grocery shopping there, you can get the basic necessities there too. But the prices are definitely higher than if you went to the super market down the street so just keep that in mind.

Otherwise, the food on the go is really great. =)

  7. I really like Milano Market. They have a good selection of Italian prepared foods and groceries, and I want to support local businesses like this.

However, last night I spent $8.50 on a bad hunk of aged gouda. I had one bite, and had to spit it out. There are no "sell-by" dates on any of the cheeses, so it's really a roll of the dice.. consider yourself warned.

  8. We loved Milano Market! I stopped in here on a brief visit to the city to grab lunch. We got sandwiches, which are made fresh. We tried the tuna and the chicken Caesar wrap. Both very good!

The prices were also fantastic – for two huge sandwiches, chips and pickles, we paid $21. Compared to many area delis, that's a steal. They also have tons of salads, sides, and meat dishes which were all available by weighed containers.

This is a great place to stop by and grab lunch to bring to Central Park (it's close by).
