  1. This is a great place for meeting up with and hanging out with friends– their masala tea is good.  As far as food so far I've had their pani puri and their kulfi with falooda, both were solid.  Will be back for more.

  2. Whenever I come to Edison, I always make sure to stop at Mithaas. Though I am a fan of chicken kabobs, I will forfeit them to eat at this pure vegetarian restaurant. The great experience starts with the service which is very attentive and friendly just like the Indian hospitality I expect. Employees are constantly surveying the customers, ensuring we do not need anything. The manager (?) is also very affable and gave us a free masala chai! I ordered chana bhatura, aloo papri chaat, and cold coffee. The bhatura is very well cooked and channa is great. We asked for more channa which they happily obliged and the aloo papri chaat could have had more papri. I love cold coffee and while this was not the best, it was still pretty good.
I highly recommend eating here when in the area. You will not be disappointed!

  3. Much much better than the one in Journal Square. Is spacious and has sofas which makes it feel much more comfortable and casual.

If you want a little bit of everything, a thali would be the better options.
Don't forget to try the Falooda.

  4. Went here today for a dinner since singas was going to take 30mins to make our pizzas. Ordered the pav bajhi and falooda and partha. All the food was soooo average. The pav was not buttered and it tasted like the stores bought ones that they grilled for a few minutes and the bajhi was also very Unflavorful. I was really hoping this place would be amazing due to create all the good reviews but it tasted super mediocre, dry, and unauthentic. The falooda needed more icecream in it and rose flavoring. And the paratha was SOOO dry I was getting cotton mouth eating it. Service also took long but that is understandable for a Friday night.

  5. 3 stars, really?!  I feel the need to write this review because Mithaas deserves more props than that!  Judging by the constant crowds, this should be evident.  Favorite desi food joint in Edison, period.  Bombay style snacks are especially good.

Chaat / samosa chaat, bhel poori, pav bhaji and mixed veg biriyani are a must.  Start with those and then see what specials they are offering.  You will not leave disappointed.

  6. We went to this location recently.. I just love their meethai and ordered around six lbs but also ordered their thaali and kaathi roll which is soo expensive compared to food that you receive..thaali was $14.. Kaathi Roll was $8 which is basically paneer or gobhi rolled in roti.. I was very disappointed.. Restaurant wasn't clean and bathroom needed more cleaning.. I will only go any Mithaas for meethai or chaat!!

  7. This spot is pretty impressive, they have a massive selection of sweets and the basic fast food style indian dishes are done well and are not too greasy.  The almond milk and Ras malai is the best I've ever had but the chat papri was not that good.  This place is really popular and gets packed.  I'll have to make another trip to Edison to eat here soon.

  8. This was my third visit in last 1 year. Mithas has impressive food. The choices are limited for a complete meal, but chaat items are good. Here are the things I've tried and their rating:

Bhervi:  excellent in first visit, ok in second visit
    Aloo tikki: very good
    Pao bhaji: excellent
    Rabdi: very good
    Mal Pua: ok
    Paneer bread pakora: good
Tea: good but they don't serve it hot
    Sev puri: very good

The place is very crowded during weekends. Not sure about weekdays.
